Gabrielor Changes the Cell Phone and PDA Experience for Users

October 2004 -Gabrielor Inc., which is dedicated to creating innovative one-handed data entry solutions, will be demonstrating its Gabrielor Rounded Keypad, which revolutionizes data entry in a variety of devices by letting users access every function of the device with a single finger, at the CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment Show (Booth #159). The tradeshow, which is being held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA, runs from October 25 to 27th, 2004. This innovative keypad streamlines text messaging to allow users to communicate quickly and conveniently, without making mistakes and learning frustrating and complicated command sequences.

"Cell phones are becoming ubiquitous and text-messaging is no longer a gee-whiz feature used only by early adopters," said Richard Jung, CEO of Gabrielor. "Users often find themselves in situations where they can't operate a traditional keypad but they do need to input data. Our Rounded Keypad lets users access all of the functions of a traditional keyboard with the tip of a single finger."

The Gabrielor Rounded Keypad uses a geometric key arrangement that leverages the tendency of the human eye to focus on the center of objects. Concentric circles of keys, which are arranged in a clockwise direction, allow users to quickly and easily input data.

The most frequently used characters and numbers are placed on the inside circle for quickest access by the thumb, while less used keys and additional function keys are placed in the outside circles. This circular design allows for all keys to be used with a single touch of one finger-so that users can create messages and take notes effortlessly. Meanwhile, additional function keys (such as Ctrl, Alt, etc.) can be viewed and accessed through an LCD display so that users can readily use hot keys or shortcuts.

The keypad's ergonomic and intuitive design allows users to start using it without extensive training or practice. Initially, the unit supports English, although additional languages can be installed.

The Gabrielor Rounded Keypad can be adapted to any portable or mounted application, including cell phones, PDAs, vehicle navigation systems, industrial equipment, military machinery and medical equipment, so that users can quickly and easily input alphanumeric data. The keypad has been patented in the United States and has patents pending in Europe and 11 other countries.
