Fujitsu Offers Desktop Replacement Notebook to Rival CRT Displays

Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujitsu Computer Systems today announced the LifeBook N3500 notebook, a full-sized desktop replacement featuring a Color Enhanced Crystal View display with CRT-like picture quality. Based on Intel Centrino Mobile Technology, the LifeBook N3500 notebook offers the performance, display capabilities and competitive price to make it an ideal desktop replacement. Complete with a spacious hard drive, built-in wireless networking and long battery life, the LifeBook N3500 notebook is designed for gamers, digital media aficionados and other demanding consumers who insist on mobility without compromise.

With its 15.4-inch wide Color Enhanced Crystal View display, the LifeBook N3500 notebook is the only system with the image intensity and color accuracy to rival a CRT. Through an optimal combination of backlight, LCD, and color filter, Fujitsu has achieved stunning color reproduction while improving both brightness and contrast. The Color Enhanced Crystal View technology renders images in truer colors, making the LifeBook N3500 notebook a reliable platform for digital media work. DVDs are more enjoyable to watch and online purchases will be more gratifying because the LifeBook N3500 notebook is capable of displaying the colors of items, like clothing, more accurately thereby eliminating one of the top reasons for returns.

With the Intel Pentium M Processor at its heart, the LifeBook N3500 notebook will perform at comparable levels to an Intel Pentium 4 Processor, and the 64 MB of dedicated video memory and PCI Express graphics will handle even the most intensive tasks.

"Consumers are expecting more from their notebook PCs, they're actually expecting to replace a desktop. As more consumers opt for these space-saving, high-performance notebooks, the ability to play interactive games, edit digital photographs and video, or even watch TV is a must," said Paul Moore, director of mobile product marketing at Fujitsu Computer Systems. "The affordably priced LifeBook N3500 notebook offers both the display quality and outstanding performance that truly untethers high-end computing from the desktop and allows the user to work how and where they want."

An optional TV tuner and Fujitsu Instant MyMedia software provide users access to a range of features, including the ability to view TV and DVDs or listen to music CDs without booting up the notebook. They can pause live TV, record shows onto the hard drive or a DVD and transfer existing VHS tapes to DVDs. A remote control provides even greater freedom for managing these activities from anywhere in a room.

The LifeBook N3500 notebook is available through the Fujitsu direct sales force, Web site and channel partners with pricing starting at $1,499 for a base configuration. Users can choose from several recommended configurations or they can customize their system using the Fujitsu Configure To Order (CTO) program.

The Fujitsu LifeBook N3500 notebook is backed by a three-year or one-year International Limited Warranty for U.S. and Canadian customers. The International Limited Warranty includes technical support, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
