FileMaker Pro 6 Debuts At MacWorld Expo

July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- FileMaker will unveil FileMaker Pro 6 -- its powerful new database software featuring easier-than-ever templates and tools, and a virtually limitless ability to gather, manage and share information -- as MacWorld EXPO opens here today.

The FileMaker booth is # 731 in the Jacob Javitz Convention Center. FileMaker will spotlight its entire product line, including FileMaker Mobile 2, running on Mac OS X.

Expo attendees will learn how they can use FileMaker Pro 6 to easily import large numbers of images from a folder into a database, and, on Mac OS X only, capture digital images and image-data directly from cameras. Simplifying the steps to add images extends the FileMaker lead in managing multimedia, and enables even more creative databases.

With integrated XML (Extensible Markup Language) import and export, FileMaker Pro 6 delivers the benefits of virtually limitless information exchange. XML support means FileMaker can integrate and exchange data with many applications, without complex, costly converting of data between proprietary formats.

At the FileMaker booth, show-goers will also see the new templates for business, education and home, which deliver "instant productivity." Users and developers of FileMaker databases will save time and be more creative with new features like format painter and customizable dialogs.

Two FileMaker Solutions Alliance member solutions, taking advantage of many of the new FileMaker Pro 6 features, will be highlighted in the FileMaker booth:

ImageTracker Pro from ImageTracker, Inc.: A FileMaker Pro based solution for high-performance, high-demand digital photographers providing direct import from the camera into their mobile computers and into the ImageViewer module. Images can be tagged immediately with the job number and all the necessary metadata.
