Epson Lowers Price of Epson Stylus Photo 780 Printer to $99

Aug. 16, 2001 - Epson America Inc. recently announced that it has reduced the price of the EPSON Stylus Photo 780 ink jet printer. With a new estimated street price of $99, this incredibly affordable printer gives customers the ability to print true BorderFree photos without "dots" in popular frame-ready sizes, in addition to everyday documents. It is also equipped with Epson's latest technology breakthrough, PRINT Image Matching. The EPSON Stylus Photo 780, which was originally available for $149* is now selling for $50 less than its introductory price, making it the lowest priced six-color photo printer available today. The EPSON Stylus Photo 780 is one of the first printers to offer support for PRINT Image Matching-enabled digital cameras, which ensures digital cameras and printers work together to automatically produce optimized prints. PRINT Image Matching is supported by leading manufacturers such as Casio, Epson, Konica, Kyocera, Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, PENTAX, Ricoh, Sanyo, Sony and Toshiba. Many of these manufacturers are currently introducing cameras that support the technology. EPSON Stylus Photo 780 customers will be able to obtain updated software that supports PRINT Imaging Matching directly from Epson's technical support line later this month.

"The EPSON Stylus Photo 780 offers our customers incredible six-color photo prints, PRINT Image Matching technology and convenient borderless printing at an even more affordable price," said Fabia Ochoa, product manager, photo imaging, Epson. "By offering this level of performance at such a low price, Epson is making photo printing accessible to anyone who wants to produce amazing prints at home without compromising quality."
