March 19, 2002 -- Two new, next-generation, mobile, computing products from ViewSonic Corporation, were on display earlier this week at MobileFocus 2002. The ViewPad products, a SuperPDA and Tablet PC, are the latest in the evolution of personal portable computing, eliminating the boundaries between traditional PDA and notebook technologies. The ViewPad 100 SuperPDA and the ViewPad 1000 Tablet PC leverage ViewSonic's understanding of the complete visual technology experience by offering businesses the combination of full-screen viewing along with the latest in portable wireless computing. The ViewPad 100 and the ViewPad 1000 are designed for mobile users in the office, on the road or at home. The ViewPad 100 is a generation beyond traditional, limited PDA and e-mail pager devices and supports personal information management, wireless e-mail and web access and server-based enterprise applications. The ViewPad 1000 offers full PC functionality in a tablet form factor, evolving from the traditional notebook, while adding stylus support and integrated digital photography.
“The ViewPads are the first in a new generation of products that will expand mobile computing,” said Tom Offutt, general manager of Advanced Technologies for ViewSonic. “Our commitment to innovation, quality and affordability makes these SuperPDA and Tablet PC products essential components of any wireless computing solution.” Both ViewPads feature high luminance SVGA TFT touch screen LCD displays (10-inch for the ViewPad 100, 10.4-inch for the ViewPad 1000) allowing for 800 x 600 resolution for a rich and full visual computing experience.
