Toshiba Launches New 3000-Series Digital Telephones

Feb. 5, 2002-- Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba TSD) today announced the launch of its Toshiba 3000-series digital telephones, which are compatible with its full line of business communications systems for small to medium-sized companies. The 3000-series digital telephones offer modern, contemporary styling, providing a variety of models and capabilities to meet every need.

"We are pleased to launch our new Toshiba 3000-series line of digital telephones, which we are confident will exceed the expectations of our authorized dealers and business communication system users," said Paul L. Wexler, executive vice president of Toshiba America Information Systems in Irvine.

"The new Toshiba 3000-series telephones combine the latest digital technology and friendly, feature-rich interface with the quality, reliability and durability for which Toshiba telephones are known."

New Design Makes Phones Easier and More Comfortable to Use
Available in six ergonomically designed models, the Toshiba 3000-series telephones have a slightly wider footprint than the previous generation of telephones. Rounder lines provide a more modern, attractive overall design.

A redesigned handset provides a more comfortable, sturdy and high-quality feel, with softer lines compatible with the overall look of the new telephone sets. Available in a choice of charcoal gray or ash white, each telephone's surface features a non-glare, fingerprint- resistant matte finish.

"Because telephones are such an integral part of everyday business communication, it's our goal to create handsets that are comfortable, yet durable," said Michael E. Durance, vice president and general manager of Toshiba Telecommunication Systems Division. "We feel we've met our goals with the new Toshiba 3000-series telephones in that they combine form and function with the latest technology."

Digital Single-Line Model
The new digital single-line telephone (DKT3001 model) now includes a programmable Flexible button which provides expanded choices for users in how they customize their telephones. The Flexible button can be programmed as Redial, Flash DN appearance, CO line appearance, or virtually any feature button.

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Models
Three models -- the DKT3010-SD, the DKT3020-SD and the DKT3014-SDL -- feature Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs), which enable users to easily see who is calling. The LCD also includes other valuable information such as the number called, calling number and/or caller name for incoming calls, duration of the call, feature prompting and much more.

The DKT3010-SD and DKT3020-SD models have a 2-line by 24-character LCD. The LCD on these models is designed specifically for the telephone's rounder shape and is angled up for optimum viewing. An adjustable tilt base option is available for all 3000-series models, delivering flexible angle adjustment of the entire telephone.

The new, top-of-the-line model DKT3014-SDL has a 24-character by 8-line large LCD. On this model, both the LCD and base can be tilted, allowing it to be personalized to the individual user's viewing preference.

All display phones have a 16-level contrast adjustment on the LCD to optimize display viewing to the user's individual room and viewing preferences. Adjustments are easily made by pressing the Mic button while pressing the Volume Up/Down button.

Soft Keys Maximize Functionality With Feature Prompting
Toshiba 3000-series LCD model telephones come with soft keys (16 soft keys on model DK3014-SDL and four on all other models). Soft keys enable the user to maximize the system's LCD feature prompting. For example, if a user is on a call, the soft keys will offer appropriate features, such as transfer, conference, or page. When a soft key is pushed, the options will change as appropriate to that operation.

Also, when the 3000-series digital telephones are utilized with the Toshiba Stratagy Enterprise Server voice processing system, soft key prompting allows users to control the voice-mail features with the touch of a button.

Programmable Feature Buttons Let Users Customize Their Telephones
Toshiba 3000-series digital telephones also have user-programmable feature buttons, making it easy to program speed dial numbers, CO lines and Multiple Directory Numbers, as well as other useful features.
