Toshiba Introduces Notebook PC with 17-inch Widescreen Display
July 21, 2003 - Toshiba today announced the Satellite P25-S607 notebook PC combining a 17.0" diagonal wide-screen (1440 x 900) display and television recording functionality to create a central home entertainment media console. The wireless-enabled Satellite P25-S607 will be available later this month for $2,699.
Draped in a unique, eye-catching blue design while integrating DVD, CD and television functionality, the Satellite P25-S607 is a welcome addition to any college dorm room, home office or living room setting. Powered by the Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition, users can record their favorite television programs for later viewing, store and access digital media and play DVDs directly from the notebook for a personal theater experience.
Offering a full array of multimedia features, the Satellite P25-S607 includes a built-in DVD-Multi drive allowing users to burn CDs and DVDs and act as a second hard drive to store critical data. Complementing the 17.0" diagonal wide-screen display, the notebook features the NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 graphics processing unit delivering breakthrough 3D imagery and rich color texture. Two harman/kardon stereo speakers are also included enhancing audio/video playback and computer gaming.
In addition to a suite of multimedia and entertainment applications, the Satellite P25-S607 keeps users productive and connected. With integrated dual Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11a/b) wireless connectivity, Satellite P25-S607 customers with a wireless home network can enjoy the flexibility of wireless Internet access from any room in the home.
ConfigFree Software Takes the Hassle out of Wireless Connections The Satellite P25-S607 ships standard with Toshiba's own uniquely designed ConfigFree software which allows easy control of communication devices and Wi-Fi connections. It enables the end user to find communications problems, offers the user suggestions and also creates profiles for easy switching between locations and communication networks. This cuts down on an organization's overall support costs and eliminates needless trouble shooting calls to Toshiba's service and support call center. And most importantly, it keeps the end user productive by minimizing unnecessary down time.
