Sharp Introduces New Notevision A10S-SL SVGA Projector

May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Electronics Corporation today introduced its new Notevision PG-A10S-SL LCD projector to the U.S. market, offering 1500 ANSI Lumens brightness and native SVGA resolution in a reliable and affordable unit. The Notevision A10S-SL joins the XGA-resolution PG-A10X as the first two entries in Sharp's Value Series, and both products are now shipping.

In addition to classroom and government settings, the Notevision A10S-SL and A10X are ideal for first-time buyers, sales/marketing professionals, small business owners and corporate trainers -- any end user or setting where low cost of ownership and reliability are paramount concerns.

The Notevision A10S-SL is available at a list price of $1,995 through Sharp's authorized distribution channels and is supported by an integrated marketing program. The Notevision A10X is available through those same channels at a list price of $3,395. Both projectors are backed by a three-year parts and labor limited warranty, including two years of Sharp's "ER" Service, a 24-hour turnaround express repair program.

Low Cost of Ownership
Value Series models are designed for "connect and project" simplicity and offer a cost-effective Low Power Mode that lets users extend lamp life from 3000 hours to 4500 hours, while lowering fan noise from 35dB to 31dB -- relatively whisper-quiet for projectors of this type. 4500 hours of lamp life allows users to save the money they would normally spend on new lamp purchases. The models also offer multiple theft-deterrent capabilities, including keypad startup code, keypad lockout, and an optional locking cable security system, Sharp stated.

Both models weigh 6.4 lbs. and measure 9.0-inches (D) by 11.7 inches (W) by 3.2-inches (H), and are bright enough for installation, yet durable and light enough for portable use. The projectors are HDTV, DVD, VCR and video game station-compatible and offer multiple inputs, including RGB, composite RCA, S-Video and RS-232C. The models are equipped with a recessed zoom and focus lens and a built-in 1-watt audio system. Value Series projectors are also "networkable" through their RS-232 inputs, and come equipped with sRGB color management, gamma adjust and multiple color temperature adjustments to sharpen color output, contrast and gradation, the company said.

Value Series projectors are designed with Sharp's PresenterPAK feature set, including a friendly graphical user interface (GUI) menu screen that is icon-based and uses common terminology rather than technical jargon. Computer and video inputs are color-coded to simplify setup for users when connecting cables to a PC, Mac or Workstation.
