Sharp Electronics Unveils the NotevisionM15 Projector
NotevisionM15 Offers 1100 ANSI Lumens Brightness,
High Resolution and an Innovative Lightweight Design
June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Electronics Corp. today
introduced a pair of lightweight yet powerful projectors for business
travelers -- the NotevisionM15X (PG-M15X) and NotevisionM15S (PG-M15S)
ultra-portables. The 3.5 lb. NotevisionM15 projectors offer 1100 ANSI Lumens
-- unprecedented brightness for the ultra-portable category -- within a
compact, durable magnesium alloy frame measuring 8.9-inches (W) by 2.0-inches
(H) by 6.9-inches (D). The M15, together with a notebook PC, will fit easily
under a standard airplane seat and is optimized for sales executives,
corporate trainers and other mobile executives. Sharp introduced the M15 at
Infocomm 2001 and is offering live demonstrations at booth 20067.
The M15X offers native XGA resolution (1024 x 768) up to SXGA, while the M15S offers native SVGA resolution (800 x 600) up to SXGA (1280 x 1024). The units have "Wireless Remote" capability with mouse control and a wide range of inputs/outputs, including composite RCA and S-Video video inputs, a 30-pin DVI-I input (Digital/Analog) to connect with data and video sources, and a 3.5 mm stereo minijack audio input. In addition, the M15s are compatible with both Mac and PC, allowing presenters to offer powerful, vivid presentations without concern for signal source or projector compatibility.
The NotevisionM15 projectors will be available in August 2001 through Sharp's authorized dealer and distributor network at a list price of $3,995 for the PG-M15S and $5,995 for the PG-M15X. The projector is backed by a three-year parts and labor limited warranty, including two years of Sharp's "ER" Service, a 24-hour turnaround express repair program.
The NotevisionM15 is the latest Sharp innovation for the mobile business market, where Sharp pioneered the mid-priced, high-quality LCD projector. The Notevision Series projectors are designed to meet the needs of mobile executives who require compact, powerful, highly functional and easy-to-use projectors at a reasonable cost.
"The M15 represents a breakthrough for Sharp in the mobile arena -- we were able to pack an unprecedented amount of power into these 3 lb. projectors," said Jerry Ganguzza, associate director for Sharp's Professional LCD Products Division. "We designed it from the perspective of a mobile presenter; it is small enough to fit under an airplane seat, very easy to operate and highly compatible. We expect the M15 to be very well received."
The PresenterPAK Feature Set
In addition to its brightness and compact magnesium alloy frame, the NotevisionM15 comes equipped with Sharp's PresenterPAK(TM) feature set for ease of use and for simple, automatic image adjustment.
Sharp's exclusive PresenterPAK features a friendly graphical user interface (GUI) menu screen that is icon-based and uses common terminology rather than technical jargon.
The NotevisionM15's automatic and manual image-adjustment features let presenters fine-tune images to ensure the sharpest presentations. Sharp's autoSYNC feature automatically adjusts computer images without having to access the projector's menu system, and Advanced ImageACE Resizing automatically adjusts different source resolutions to match the projector's native resolution, enabling the M15s to handle images up to SXGA resolutions and various Macintosh and electronic workstation data signals as well. NTSC, PAL, SECAM and DTV/DVD video signals are also handled through the projector's video inputs. The M15 features digital keystone correction with edge smoothing to remove trapezoidal effects. Anti-aliasing edge smoothing ensures crisp images while maintaining brightness.
Sharp offers a full line of LCD projectors, monitors and professional video equipment for purchase, lease or rental through its national network of authorized dealers.
