Samsung Launches Enhanced Large-Screen CRT

Advanced Features, Competitive Price
Samsung’s latest 19” CRT offers corporate and home users many easy-to-use image-enhancing features. The SyncMaster 950b incorporates Samsung’s new HighLight Zone that allows users to select a specific area of the monitor (or even the entire screen) and directly adjust the size (HV), brightness, contrast, color and sharpness of the specified area. This screen advancement is ideal for users who display video, streaming video or install a TV tuner card in their computer. It also enhances viewing enjoyment when playing games, movies or other multimedia applications allowing the user to emphasize and fine tune a particular area on the screen or the entire screen. The HighLight Zone is controlled via the On-Screen Display.

The 950b sports a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 @ 68 Hz and utilizes an ultra-fine dot pitch of 0.22mm(H) with an INVAR Shadow Mask to deliver bright, brilliant detailing of all on-screen images from spreadsheets to online trading sites. The display supports flicker-free resolutions in both the PC and MAC environments. The 950b employs an Ultra Clearä High-Contrast ARAS screen coating to reduce glare and eye strain for extended screen use.

The 950b features Samsung’s unique drop down Display Director On-Screen controls. The redesigned panel ensures easy user navigation through the comprehensive menu of on-screen controls, which now include Highlight Zone, Zoom In/Zoom Out, Focus Adjust and Control Lock/Unlock.

Samsung’s SyncMaster 950b offers USB capability via an optional USB Hub. USB simplifies hook up to desktop peripherals -- such as keyboard, mouse, joystick, printer or scanner -- and offers improved PC-to-peripheral performance. Samsung’s self-powered USB Hub includes four downstream ports and one upstream port, eliminating desktop clutter by allowing up to 127 USB peripherals to be connected to the PC through the monitor instead of via the desktop’s parallel and serial ports.

For easy installation and optimum configuration, the 950b features built-in Plug and Play capability that conforms to the Video Electronics Standards Association's (VESA) Display Data Channel (DDC) Type 1/2Bi standards. Plug and Play automatically configures the monitor with the host computer and selects the optimum resolution and refresh rates to achieve crisp detail, bright colors and razor sharp images.

Samsung’s 950b monitor includes Natural Color software. Natural Color software tunes up your display to ensure that the colors you see on your Samsung monitor are consistent with the original images -- from detailed graphics programs to Web site merchandise to printed material.

The SyncMaster 950b meets the stringent TCO ’99 standards for low emissions and incorporates a four-stage (On, Stand-by, Suspend, Off) power management system that complies with the VESA DPMS, NUTEK and Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star standards for energy efficient reduced power consumption.
