Rio Mako PDA

Diamond MaKo S3, makers of the Rio MP3 player, have jumped on the PDA bandwagon with the introduction of the Diamond Mako personal digital assistant. Instead of the Palm or Windows CE operating system, Mako uses Psion's EPOCH OS. Actually, the Mako is a Psion with a hipper name.

Expect to hear a lot from Epoch. Big in Europe for its seamless Internet capabilities and more robust organizer features, Epoch beat out the Palm OS on Sony's upcoming cell phone/PDA's, and it is expected to be the OS of choice on Ericsson's new combo Cell phone/PDA this Winter.

Mako offers a personal organizer, spreadsheet, word processing, e-mail and web browsing applications in a clamshell design. For graffiti haters and touch screen naysayers, its full keyboard and a large rectangular display combined with 16MB of memory make it an excellent choice for editing text, reading spreadsheets and storing a low cost laptop worth of data in your pocket. www.diamondmako.com.
