About sRGB
Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Pantone and the International Color Consortium (ICC) proposed the addition of support for a standard color space, sRGB (standard Red/Green/Blue), within Microsoft operating systems, HP products, the Internet, and all other interested vendors. The aim of this color space is to complement the current color management strategies by enabling a third method of handling color in the operating systems, device drivers and the Internet that utilizes a simple and robust device independent color definition. sRGB provides good quality and backward compatibility with minimum transmission and system overhead. Based on a calibrated colorimetric RGB color space well suited to digital and analog computer monitors, television, scanners, digital cameras, and printing systems, sRGB can be supported with minimum cost to software and hardware vendors. sRGB now provides a fixed color definition that automatically provides the best calibration between dissimilar devices. For example, HP printers will support the use of ICC profiles directly using an Adobe PostScript workflow, or indirectly through the use of ColorSync or image color management (ICM). For more information about sRGB color matching please find srgb.com on the web.
About Premium Multi-Domain Vertical Alignment (MVA) Cell Technology
In the MVA process, the Liquid Crystal molecules are angled in more than one direction within a single cell. This is done by dividing the cell into two or more regions, called domains, and by using protrusions on the glass surfaces to pre-tilt the molecules in the desired direction. By combining areas of molecules oriented in one direction with areas of molecules oriented in the opposite direction, and by making the areas very small, the brightness of the cells can be made to appear uniform over a wide range of viewing angles. With Premium MVA the LCD panel eliminates color distortion and grayscale inversion and provides a contrast ratio of 500:1, a 25ms response time and a super-wide 170° viewing angle.
