Pharos to Deliver GPS Navigation with Toshiba PDAs

July 2003 - Pharos Science & Applications Inc., a leading provider of portable navigation products and location-based services, just announced an agreement with Toshiba's Computer Systems Group (CSG), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., to offer Pharos Pocket GPS Navigator kits with its new Toshiba PDA devices featuring Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs.

The Pharos Pocket GPS Navigator allows Pocket PC users to locate their current position, and navigate to their destination using voice prompted, turn-by-turn directions. The graphical map display or text directions will guide travelers to specified addresses or points of interest. Users can also choose to navigate to addresses from their Pocket Outlook contacts, their "favorite" places, and their most recent destinations. The combination of Pharos and Toshiba products creates a powerful navigation solution for business and vacation travelers alike.

"We're excited to be able to deliver this unique GPS solution with Toshiba for their new Pocket PC customers," said Craig Kairis, vice president business development, Pharos. "Much like Toshiba, we are committed to providing top-quality products and services to mobile professionals and people on the go, at prices that are affordable."

"Toshiba selected Pharos because of its track record for providing easy-to-use yet powerful navigation applications to enhance the PDA experience," said Carl Pinto, director of product marketing, Toshiba CSG. "Toshiba continues to offer our customers the ultimate in wireless and mobile functionality and guide them toward solutions that will maximize their productivity, such as the Pharos Pocket GPS Navigator."
