New Version Of eMailBoss Works With Microsoft Outlook

Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Seventy percent of office workers feel overwhelmed by the estimated 100-200 emails they receive each day, costing companies billions of dollars in lost time. Noting the statistics revealed in a recent study by the Electronic Messaging Association and the University of Washington, Incline SoftWorks LLC of Incline Village, Nev. today launched a new product to bring order out of corporate chaos. eMailBoss 4.0, which performs like an "executive secretary", organizes and prioritizes the volumes of email while pulverizing junk mail or "spam" according to user preference. Designed as an enhancement to Microsoft's Outlook, the $39.95 program can be downloaded on a "try before you buy" basis at www.inclinesoftworks.com .

A major feature of eMailBoss is AutoSort, which saves valuable time by automatically organizing messages into seven folders arranged by categories -- VIP, Hot!, Follow-up, Office Mail, Friends and Family, To Be Reviewed and Occupant. This feature, like most of the software's enhancements, is not included with MS Outlook.

Another highlight is Audio Alert. Each time mail is delivered, specific user-selected sounds can be assigned to each message category and switched on or off depending on priority levels. EMailBoss 4.0 also allows users to fully customize each folder according to their special needs. Other categories and folders can be added anytime.

Also unique is the "spam blacklist." Once created by the eMailBoss user, who indicates certain domain names or spamming individuals using keywords, unwanted email is automatically blocked from entering the inbox. The newest features added to eMailBoss 4.0 are:

Consolidated View Page -- allows the user to see all priority mail in one place.

PDASynchronization -- Due to Consolidated View Page feature, email to be synchronized by a PDA is cut by up to 80 percent, saving PDA space and download time.

Email Forwarding -- allows users to send mail in any of the seven category folders to another address (such as PDAs or cell phones) when they are away from Outlook.

Junk Senders Import - eMailBoss now accepts external Junk Sender lists with one sender name per line in a plain text file, allowing users to import existing Outlook Junk Senders lists.

Follow-up Reminder -- automatically reminds users to Follow-Up on their set due dates.

Other enhancements include unlimited Junk Sender list size, faster delete of old messages, popup dialog to add Junk Sender when unread messages are deleted, a modified eMailBoss News message system, updated Help system and the ability to detect and mark messages as "junk". Standard eMailBoss features also include:

Individual Folder Customization -- Each folder -- the seven provided by eMailBoss and any created by the user -- can be customized to meet personal needs. For instance, users can quickly and easily turn sound or voice features on or off, and they can switch sound files with just a click of the mouse.

Voice Alert -- With built-in text-to-speech synthesizer, the program vocalizes messages by senders' name and subject line. (not available in MS Outlook).

Sound Alert -- Unlimited WAV sound files, from fire engines to music and from funny voices to church bells, are available and can be attached to any eMailBoss categories (only one sound alert is available in MS Outlook).

Pop-Up Alert -- New emails can either be announced audibly with the users' choice of sounds or silently via a Pop-Up Alert. (Not available in Outlook without special programming).

Retention -- Any folder can be marked to delete email after a specific number of days, an ideal feature for the "Junk" and "AutoSort" newsletter folders.

Email Aliases -- Users with multiple email accounts can merge them, then sort out the junk from the important messages and insert them into their appropriate folders.

Junk or Spam Blocking -- This feature allows users to block senders or deny entire domain names, thus eliminating junk mail (eg: It is possible to block either sender@ domain.com or all users from "domain.com".

Automatic Update - Notifies users when a new version of eMailBoss is available and allows them to easily download the updates.

Experts predict that the volume of email is only going to increase in the months and years ahead, due in large part to more aggressive online direct marketing. Although email is the most popular Internet application, it also causes the most frustration. Says Joyce Graff, an email analyst with the Gartner Group technology research firm: "that means even more time is going to be sucked away from people's lives dealing with spam."

Dr. Kathie Sigler, president of the medical center campus of Miami-Dade Community College in Florida, said that eMailBoss has solved her time management nightmare.
