New Ultra-Slim Sprint PCS Phone May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Mini-form clearly meets multi- function in the newest dual-band, ultra-slim phone built to fit easily in a shirt pocket or small purse. Designed for personalization, it can also wirelessly download ringers and graphics. Sprint, which is the fastest growing wireless carrier and operates the largest all-digital, all-PCS nationwide network, and Sanyo Fisher Company today unveiled the new Sprint PCS Phone SCP-6200 by Sanyo.
Like its equally fashionable, single-band predecessor, the Sprint PCS Phone SCP-6000 by Sanyo --an Innovations 2002 "Best of Innovations" Award winner for design and engineering excellence at this year's International Consumer Electronics Show -- the phone features a durable magnesium alloy faceplate for added strength. Available at a suggested retail price of $299.99, the Sprint PCS Phone SCP-6200 by Sanyo is available at Sprint Stores nationwide and online at http://www.sprintpcs.com/ .
The elegant, silver-toned phone measures a mere .46 inches deep and 5 inches high by 1 1/2 inches wide. It weighs only 2.65 ounces with its standard 860mAh Lithium Ion battery attached. Talk time using the standard battery is up to 3.5 hours and standby time is up to 280 hours in digital mode. The Sprint PCS Phone SCP-6200 by Sanyo supports the Sprint PCS Ringers & More add-on service that allows users to wirelessly download ringtones and screen savers. Customers can personalize their phone with a ringtone or screen saver by choosing from any of the hundreds of songs and graphics available. An optional Sprint PCS Wireless Web Connection Kit featuring Sanyo Multimedia Master software also lets users personalize the phone, by downloading from the user's PC, images of friends, family and business associates. These images can be used as a "screen saver" or synchronized with phone book entries, providing an onscreen "Photo Caller ID" with select incoming calls. Ringtones in midi file format can also be downloaded and synchronized with phone book entries to personalize incoming calls. The phone features a monochrome, 4-step gradation LCD screen with 5-step contrast control to ensure optimal viewability under various lighting conditions. A customizable (green or orange) backlit display is ideal for low to no light environments. The Sprint PCS Phone SCP-6200 by Sanyo includes one-touch Sprint PCS Wireless Web Access for convenience and simplicity when accessing the Internet. Selectable call screening, which functions like a portable answering machine, lets the user decide whether or not to take the call while a supplied or user-recorded announcement greets the caller. One-touch voice memo allows up to eight 18-second memos to be recorded simply by pressing a key. Voice- activated dialing lets users call up to 30 stored entries by speaking the name into the handset's microphone. Access to menu options, including e-mail accounts, can be easily achieved with the thumb-operable navigation key offering speedy, mouse-like convenience.
