New TypeAway Folding Aluminum PDA Keyboard

Logitech TypeAway KeyboardMarch 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Logitech (Switzerland: LOGZ, LOGN) introduced today a lightweight, pocket-sized, folding aluminum keyboard designed for Palm handhelds. The ultra-slim TypeAway offers a full key layout with a tactile response that touch typists expect, yet barely tips the scales at half the size and weight of the leading folding PDA keyboard. The keys of the TypeAway keyboard feature a "scissor" technology, which is the same as that, used in notebook computers to allow for its low profile typing plane. Its advanced navigation keys provide quick access to favorite handheld applications. In April, it will be available in the US and Europe for $79.95 USD.

"In today's mobile environment, people are increasingly looking for an easy way to enter data while on the road in a way that resembles, as much as possible, their behavior at the desktop," said Denis Pavillard, director of marketing for Logitech's keyboards and desktops. "Logitech has years of experience in offering personal interface products that are beautifully designed and comfortable to use. The TypeAway is in keeping with this product tradition."

The Logitech TypeAway keyboard is compatible with Palm OS 4.1 and Palm OS 4.0 for the Palm m125, Palm m500, Palm m505 and future handhelds with the Palm Universal Connector. The Logitech software, to configure the Palm for the keyboard, is compatible with the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 95 Windows 98, Windows Me and Windows XP. The application is also compatible with Macintosh OS. The keyboard ships with a free trial version of the popular Palm OS based word processor, WordSmith.
