New PDA Pocket Keyboard for Handspring Visor Edge

GlideTechnology Demonstrates Success for the Handheld Device MarketNov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Cirque Corp., a leader of customized input technology solutions for the consumer market and digital device manufacturers, today announced the availability of the PDA Pocket Keyboard(TM) and adapter for the Handspring(TM) Visor(TM) Edge. Available for purchase on Cirque's website, www.cirque.com for $41.95, the PDA Pocket Keyboard is the first and only keyboard compatible with Visor Edge. Keyboard adapters are also sold separately for $4.95 on Cirque's website.

"Cirque's PDA Pocket Keyboard is a complimentary accessory for Visor Edge that is small and slim, allowing both items to easily fit into a pocket or purse," said Rita Sharma, business development manager at Handspring. "Cirque's keyboard is a great extension for on-the-go data and text input."

Rather than using the stylus for Graffiti(R), the keyboard's non-mechanical keys allow for faster typing capability enabling people with Visor Edge to better manage calendar and address text input. The keyboard's retractable stand allows for easy typing either on flat surfaces or held in the person's hand. The keyboard uses two coin lithium batteries as its own power source, so consumers do not have to worry about draining power from the Visor. The keyboard is based on Cirque's award-winning GlidePoint(R) Technology, which is under the GlideTechnology(TM) suite, and is now fully compatible with all Handspring devices.

"We were focused on bringing the first keyboard for the Handspring Visor Edge to market because we recognize its users are on the leading-edge of technology adoption," said Richard Clasen, Cirque's president and CEO. "Our keyboard allows users to truly appreciate and utilize the Handspring Visor Edge's features and capabilities."

The PDA Pocket Keyboard is also compatible with all Palm operating system versions along with the entire Palm product line. The keyboard is light and compact measuring 3.85 inches x 2.68 inches and weighing 1.9 ounces. To use the keyboard, users simply install Cirque's PocketKeys software into their PDA to activate the device.
