New Kensington Adjustable Wrist Pads, Back and Seat Rests with Memory Foam

Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Kensington Technology Group, a leading provider of innovative solutions that improve the personal computer experience, introduced today two product lines that add unprecedented levels of personalization, comfort and productivity to any computer working environment. The Kensington Adjustable Wrist Pads are the first full line of height adjustable wrist products available in both gel and foam. The Kensington Memory Foam Back and Seat Rests incorporate for the first time temperature and pressure sensitive materials that gently mold to a user's body. Both product lines mark the latest ergonomic innovations from Kensington, based on the principle that creating a personal work environment that accommodates the variations of a user's body can increase productivity.

"Applying innovative design ideas and new technologies to improve the working environment is what Kensington is all about, and these two new product lines exemplify that focus," said Tim Tyrell-Smith, Director of Comfort & Productivity Products at Kensington. "At their core, these are very simple products, but the approach and development of each line is innovative and well thought out. Many people are working harder and for longer hours than they ever have before, and these solutions can make a real difference to their comfort and productivity."

The Kensington Adjustable Wrist Supports, designed with patent-pending EasyFlip adjustability, allow computer users to quickly and easily change the height of wrist support from 1 1/8" - 1 1/2", simply by flipping the base of the support from one side to the other. These dual height positions are available in several wrist rest formats, including a mouse wrist rest, laptop wrist pad, keyboard platform, and extended keyboard platform. The list price for each product in the new line will range from $19.95 to $71.95.

The Kensington Memory Foam Back and Seat Rests are made with a special pressure and temperature sensitive foam that dissipates pressure points by molding to the body. This high-tech memory foam, originally developed by NASA to support astronauts experiencing g-force pressures during lift off, helps extend the comfort of any user during long hours at a desk. The list price for both the back rest and seat rest will be $49.95 each.

"One of the fundamental concepts of ergonomics is adjusting the environment to the worker instead of the other way around," said professor Alan Hedge, PhD., Co-Founder of HealthyComputing.com, an online resource for ergonomic education created by top ergonomics experts. "Products that promote a custom arrangement for each user can help make a difference."
