For people interested in increasing their efficiency, the HP Scanjet 5550c scanner includes ScanSoft PaperPort software to help streamline the electronic storage of documents. They also have the ability to archive information and save hard disk space by using the scan-to-CD feature. With the Hi-speed USB connection, they can preview scans in about seven seconds and quickly send them to the computer.

To make any project easy, front-panel buttons provide quick access to seven software functions including scan, post to hpphoto.com, HP Memories Disc Creator, email, copy, power save and cancel. Featuring OCR software, the HP Scanjet 5550c scanner automatically optimizes and converts documents to electronic text, allowing users to quickly edit text without retyping the entire document.
