New Hitachi Flat Screen Monitor Supports Analog and Digital Signals January 16, 2002 --Hitachi America, Ltd., a
subsidiary of
Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT) has added a versatile, high-performance,
value-priced 17" LCD monitor to its line of flat screen displays. The
new
CML170+ is an upgrade to Hitachi’s award-winning CML170 that Computer
User
Magazine’s reviewer called, "the sharpest, most colorful 17-inch LCD
monitor I've ever tested." (Computer User Magazine, 9/01). The CML170+
provides support for both digital and analog signals and includes
enhancements in the areas of brightness, contrast and resolution, while
delivering high quality, distortion free images.CML170+ monitor is designed for corporate, home, general business and
SOHO
users who want the advantages of consistently high image quality at a
value
price. Delivering a full 17" viewing area (388 x 270 mm) the new LCD
provides inputs for 15-pin D-sub and DVI-D. It also delivers 250 nit
brightness and a high 400:1 contrast ratio with a prime recommended
resolution of 1280x1024 at 75 or 60Hz.
The new monitor also features an auto-adjust function for quick, beautiful picture adjustments and comes with integrated speakers, a headphone jack and volume control on the bezel. With the new digital input, this monitor can produce higher quality images when using in conjunction with an appropriate digital video card. The CML170+ can be arm or wall mounted with an additional third party arm and meets VESA Flat Panel Monitor Physical Mounting Interface (FPMPMI) standards. The panel weighs 14 lbs and is 7" deep including the base and features a Kensington Security Port. It is PC and Mac analog compatible. The CML170+ will be available in both Ivory (CML170+) and Black/midnight gray (CML170B+) to match business or decor requirements. The CML170+ is TCO ’99 and the CML170B+ is TCO ’95 compliant. Both monitors use about ½ the energy of most comparably sized CRT monitors. The CML170+ will begin shipping to Hitachi distributors worldwide on January 16th and the CML170B+ will begin shipping on February 7th. Both models will have an MSRP of $819.00.
