New Gateway E-Series Business Desktops

July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gateway today introduces the all-new series of Gateway E-Series desktop computers for business users. The expandable, easy-to-manage, network-optimized PCs are designed to lower the total cost of ownership with long lifecycles and the solid price/performance balance that businesses want. The new computers also boast the attractive new graphite and platinum design revealed earlier this year.

"Purchasing a Gateway E-Series desktop is a great investment on several levels -- they are stable, easy to support and highly expandable, so they are ready for current and future needs," said Randy Farwell, director of desktop products, Gateway, Inc. "Plus, businesses can go to their local Gateway store to talk to an expert about Gateway's customized consulting services."

Complementing the E-Series product line, Gateway offers business customers turnkey support programs that take care of their technology needs, so they can focus on running and growing their business. A wide range of customizable services such as training, network installation and support are available through the company's Gateway stores located across the U.S., online at Gateway.com and through its nationwide network of service providers.

The new highly stable Gateway E-Series desktop PC line has a system to match every user's needs. The computers use next-generation Intel 845G, 845GL or 850E chipsets, which combine high performance Pentium 4 processors with support for superior graphics capabilities. The new line of Gateway E-Series desktop PCs includes:

  • E-2000 desktop PC, priced starting at $849, delivers fully integrated performance technology at a value price point. The Gateway E-2000 is ideal for running standard networked applications, word processing and Internet access.
  • The E-4000 desktop PC, priced starting at $1,049, is a robust power platform that provides solid performance with the ability to expand functionality as business needs grow. The E-4000 is designed for all office applications, demos and training, seamless multi-tasking, and running high demand software.
  • The E-6000, priced starting at $1,399, delivers leading edge technology for optimal performance while running the most intense business PC applications. The E-6000 provides the bandwidth and maximum performance for technical computing and applications including e-business, desktop publishing and multimedia, streaming audio and video, and financial modeling.

Gateway E-Series computers incorporate the latest manageability and security features that make them easy to maintain. Intel's LANDesk Client Manager and built-in sensors continually monitor the system's vital functions and alert staff of potential problems before downtime occurs. The Wake-On-LAN technology powers on computers via a network server, helping IT staff to perform routine maintenance during non-working hours. The E-Series computers also feature remote system alerting capability that alerts IT staff to changes in system settings.

The highly serviceable design of the Gateway E-Series PCs helps busy IT organizations maximize productivity. The systems can be opened via a tool- less entry for quick and easy servicing, resulting in reduced downtime. Components can be easily accessed, so servicing and upgrades are quick with easy. Plus, the new design of plastic and metal casing is more than double the thickness of standard PC designs, creating a stronger and more durable system.
