NEC Introduces 42\" Progressive Scan XGA Plasma Display
New 42MP4 Combines Progressive Scan XGA Resolution Panel for Sharp, Flicker- Free Images with the Most Comprehensive Feature Set of any 42" Plasma Display In the Industry April 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NEC Solutions (America), Inc. today introduced its most advanced 42" plasma display model to date, the PlasmaSync 42MP4 for multimedia presentation users. The industry's first 42" plasma with progressive scan XGA native resolution, the 42MP4 builds upon NEC's industry-leading MP Series design to give users in conference room, boardroom, videoconferencing and training applications the consummate multimedia presentation tool.
"NEC's PlasmaSync 42MP4 represents a significant leap forward in 42" plasma display technology," said Mike Piehl, plasma product line manager for Visual Systems at NEC Solutions America. "It weds the most comprehensive feature set available in a 42" plasma today with progressive scan XGA resolution to give multimedia presentation users the ultimate combination of image quality and presentation functionality."
The 42MP4's progressive scan driving method allows for stable, flicker- free images, which along with the display's native 1024x768 resolution results in the sharp, clear display of high-resolution text and graphics. The 42MP4 also features realistic color production thanks to NEC's exclusive Capsulated Color Filter technology and to NEC's AccuCrimson technology, which ensures the most realistic shades of red available in a plasma display today. And NEC's Advanced Accublend scan conversion provides for the sharp display of screen images in non-native resolutions.
The display's Digital Zoom function lets users enlarge any portion of the screen up to 3 times and includes the most flexible panning function available today for enhanced functionality during presentations. The 42MP4 also features built-in stereo audio, nearly silent operation, and high-resolution support as well as a wide variety of standard inputs and computer, video and HDTV source compatibility for extreme flexibility and protection from obsolescence.
NEC's exclusive AccuShield Phosphor Protection System gives users the most comprehensive system to minimize the risk of phosphor burn available today. And the 42MP4 also features an RS232 serial control port, making it possible to operate every monitor function from a remote PC or boardroom control system and providing monitor verification that the 42MP4 has executed the command.
Pricing And Availability
The PlasmaSync 42MP4 will ship in summer 2002 with a suggested retail price of $9,995. The monitor includes a one-year warranty, with an optional extended warranty for two additional years of coverage that can be purchased through authorized NEC Visual Systems channel partners.
