Motorola and Visto Extend Personal Information Management to Java-Enabled Phones

Suite of Applications for Wireless E-Mail, Calendar and Contacts to Expand Productivity of Mobile Workers July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and Visto Corporation today announced that Visto has developed applications to enable wireless access to corporate e-mail, calendar and contacts through Motorola handsets with Java(TM) 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME(TM)) technology. The companies will engage in joint marketing initiatives to provide enterprise organizations and mobile workforces with secure, cost-effective, wireless access to their corporate information systems.

Individual mobile users can take advantage of the Visto solution by simply downloading the Visto desktop companion for an easy and flexible way to achieve wireless access to messaging applications. For larger organizations, the Visto mLynx(TM) Enterprise Server can securely connect the mobile workforce to e-mail, calendar and contacts directly from their wireless phones.
