Good Technology Ships Cradleless Mobile Data System

Good G100 June 5, 2002--Good Technology, Inc. recently announced its always up-to-date, cradleless system for wirelessly connecting mobile workers with valuable enterprise email and data. The company's new GoodLink wireless corporate messaging system -- available now -- provides corporate customers with an end-to-end system for continuously synchronizing a variety of popular handhelds with corporate email and data. Twenty companies, including Transatlantic Reinsurance, Bechtel Enterprises, Thomson Financial, Perot Systems, VeriSign, Inc., Silicon Valley Bank, Electronic Arts and E.piphany, have already deployed GoodLink. With this announcement, the company enters the U.S. Mobile Internet Enterprise Market, which Goldman Sachs estimates will grow to $20 billion by 2005. Good also announced the Good G100 wireless handheld that pioneers the new category of Synchronized Messaging Devices, and the GoodInfo wireless information system for accessing web-enabled data sources. Customers choose GoodLink because it perpetually synchronizes wireless handhelds while dramatically reducing enterprise deployment and ownership costs. GoodLink is based on Good's patent-pending compression and two-way wireless synchronization technologies that free users from their desktops while keeping them continuously and wirelessly connected to company information. The product's zero desktop software architecture eliminates the costly need for IT professionals to install software or cradles on end-users' desktops.

"We interviewed many CIOs who told us they want one vendor to provide an end-to-end, wirelessly synchronized connection to corporate information that works on a variety of devices," said Daniel J. Shader, chief executive officer of Good Technology, Inc. "GoodLink delivers freedom of choice: a multi-device, multi-network system with one-stop accountability and enterprise-class customer service."

GoodLink Wireless Corporate Messaging System Keeps Users Always Up-to-Date
GoodLink provides mobile workers with a continuously synchronized connection to Microsoft Exchange Server-based data so they can instantly access corporate email, contacts, calendar, notes and tasks -- continuously and securely -- when they are away from their desktops. In addition, it enables users to view email attachments in Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, HTML, PDF and RTF file formats as a secure, integrated part of the system. The end-to-end GoodLink System includes synchronizing server software, nationwide wireless service on the Cingular Wireless network, and applications software for a variety of devices, including the RIM 950, the RIM 957 and the new Good G100 wireless handhelds.

"Good Technology complements our vision of an end-to-end mobile solution for the large number of companies embracing Microsoft .NET," said Keith McCall, director of Microsoft Exchange Partner Development at Microsoft Corp. "GoodLink enables long-battery-life, appliance-like messaging devices to wirelessly access Exchange-based data."

New GoodInfo System Enables Thin Client Access to Corporate Data
To further enable corporate customers to extend valuable data sources wirelessly to mobile users, Good also announced the GoodInfo wireless information system. GoodInfo makes it easy for handheld users to access Web-enabled applications such as SAP, Siebel, corporate applications, intranets and public Web sites -- even when wireless coverage is intermittent. GoodInfo is optimized for delivering data over today's wireless networks: it uses a query and response delivery model to make information available both offline and online. Users can easily submit wireless queries via GoodInfo and receive responses quickly. Corporate developers can create new GoodInfo Applications in minutes using standards-based Web technologies, such as XML, CGI and HTTP. These lightweight applications can be distributed to users easily and wirelessly.

New Good G100 Wireless Handheld is Purpose-Built For Messaging
As part of its end-to-end system, Good also announced the Good G100 wireless handheld, a powerful, compact and sophisticated handheld that pioneers a new category of Synchronized Messaging Devices -- continuously synchronized wireless handhelds that are purpose-built for composing and reading large amounts of email and accessing data. Small enough to be carried or belted at all times, the Good G100 provides mobile professionals with a highly portable handheld for robust wireless access to corporate information. Its sophisticated design features both a clear, crisp grayscale display screen and an ergonomically designed quick-type thumb keyboard for a superior typing experience on a small form-factor device. Its ambidextrous navigation bar, dedicated command buttons such as Home, Escape and Menu, and discrete left and right scrolling buttons enable one-handed use by both left-handed and right-handed users. The Good G100 is powered by GoodLink and GoodInfo software to provide a complete package for continuously synchronized wireless corporate messaging and data access.

Corporate Customers Praise GoodLink
"Bechtel Enterprises selected GoodLink because its zero desktop software architecture dramatically reduces our deployment costs by eliminating expensive IT visits to user desktops," said Alberto Hernandez, information systems manager of Bechtel Enterprises, Inc. "GoodLink also delivers continuous two-way synchronization with no cradle required, which keeps Bechtel Enterprises executives continuously and wirelessly up-to-date with company email and information, including attachments."

"Transatlantic Reinsurance deployed GoodLink for key staff located in our New York and Miami offices and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. The automatic synchronization between remote device and server is a great improvement," said Glenn Gardner, senior vice president and CIO of Transatlantic Reinsurance, a subsidiary of Transatlantic Holdings, Inc., which is a subsidiary of AIG. "From an administrative standpoint, GoodLink makes deploying and maintaining wireless devices much easier as there is nothing that needs to be done on individual desktops. It has been a very big success at Transatlantic and has quickly become an integral part of how users stay in touch with clients and the home office."

"The very nature of our business means Perot Systems has an extremely mobile workforce. We chose GoodLink to keep workers connected to home base when traveling or in the field," said Steve Giunta, director of Telecommunications at Perot Systems. "GoodLink provides our users with a continuous two-way server-based synchronization of all their email, attachments, organizer information and calendar data so they can stay up-to-date and productive, without the need for a cradle."

"Silicon Valley Bank strives to provide the best possible customer service to clients so we deployed GoodLink to our managers to improve customer response time. For these users, instant access to email is a necessity, so they love the completely synchronized wireless connection to corporate email and information with no cradling required - especially the attachments," said Rebekah Westlake, information technology manager at Silicon Valley Bank. "In addition, Good Technology provides excellent customer service and some of the best support representatives that I have dealt with during my career in IT."

"GoodLink gained rapid acceptance at E.piphany because it provides a practical and complete wireless communication solution. In fact, after just a few weeks, we are establishing GoodLink as our wireless corporate messaging standard," said Roy Camblin, SVP and CIO at E.piphany. "Our users love it because GoodLink addresses many short comings of competitive products by providing always up-to-date information and integrated attachments with no cradle required. Plus, the zero desktop install option makes it very easy and inexpensive for our IT group to install and maintain."

"Electronic Arts selected Good's wireless email and data system because Good provides a single point of accountability for the whole end-to-end system, including the wireless network," said Marc West, CIO of Electronic Arts. "GoodLink is always up-to-date with all of Microsoft Outlook so our mobile workers only have to touch information once, a high productivity boost over EA's current tools. Also, Good is not just about email -- we look to use the GoodInfo wireless information system to enable us to mobilize vital corporate data." B
"VeriSign selected and deployed Good Technology's wireless corporate messaging and data system for our mobile users because GoodLink is the only wireless system that meets our stringent security requirements, even when transmitting data over a wireless network," said Mahi De Silva, vice president of corporate technology strategies at VeriSign, Inc. "GoodLink leverages VeriSign's advanced security technologies to ensure an encrypted communication from end-to-end between the synchronizing server behind the firewall and the wireless handheld. In addition, the companies have forged a strong alliance and are collaborating on the development of next-generation wireless security infrastructure."
