Fujitsu Slashes Price of LifeBook E Series
July 17, 2002 - Fujitsu PC Corporation (FPC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited (TSE:6702), today announced it has reduced its price for the powerful LifeBook E Series notebook. With pricing now starting as low as $1,499, this desktop replacement is ideal for all budget-conscious buyers in need of the performance and functionality of a high-end computer at an economical price.
The LifeBook E Series is one of the first slim and stylish desktop replacement notebooks priced under $1,500 to feature a Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M running at 1.6GHz, a large 14-inch XGA screen, and 32MB of DDR266 video memory with a high-end ATI Mobility RADEONT 7500 graphics accelerator. Measuring a mere 1.38 inches thin, it also includes a 20GB hard drive, 128MB of DDR266 system memory, a modular CD-ROM drive and external USB floppy disk drive.
The LifeBook E Series is sold through the company's retail and reseller channels as well as at www.fujitsupc.com or 1-877-FPC-DIRECT. Users can choose the recommended configuration or customize their notebook utilizing the Fujitsu Configure To Order (CTO) Program. Fully loaded, the E Series can include a Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M running at 2GHz, 15-inch SXGA+ screen, 512MB of system memory, 40GB hard drive, integrated WiFiT-compliant wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11b), Microsoft Windows XP Professional and a three-year International Limited Warranty.

The $1,499 model comes preinstalled with Microsoft Windows XP Home and is backed by a one-year International Limited Warranty for U.S. and Canadian customers.
Service and Support
The LifeBook E Series incorporates the Fujitsu Service Assistant, a
Web-based diagnostic and resolution application with every system. The
Fujitsu Service Assistant provides support solutions to the most common
issues that may be experienced with just a simple click of the mouse. The
diagnostic program is designed to increase customer satisfaction by
delivering faster, more effective problem resolutions, thus avoiding user
frustrations usually associated with slower, non-technology-based service
programs.
The International Limited Warranty includes technical support, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, users can add Fujitsu Premium Care Service Plans, which include an on-site service or a screen protection plan.
