Epson Announces $1,299 Portable Projector

September 2002 - Epson America just announced the EPSON PowerLite 30c, a portable multimedia projector that boasts Epson's LCD technology and high-quality video capabilities at one of the most attractive prices on the market. With an estimated street price of $1,299, this 6.4-pound projector is positioned to open the door to many SOHO professionals, K-12 educators and home entertainment enthusiasts who are looking for an affordable projector and do not want to sacrifice superior quality.

The versatile EPSON PowerLite 30c offers customers 800 ANSI lumens, SVGA-native resolution (800 x 600), along with a crisp 400:1 contrast ratio and a lightweight, highly portable design that is both compact and easy to use. The EPSON PowerLite 30c is also a multipurpose entertainment projector, compatible with RGB, composite, s-video, and component video offering a wide range of input options to make movie watching simple and enjoyable. Furthermore, it uses a cinema filter that enhances movie images for an authentic theater feeling.

The EPSON PowerLite 30c meets the same stringent quality control measures that Epson uses for the rest of its projector line, so customers can be confident that these products will stand up to everyday use. In fact, a recent study found that "experienced professionals who service and sell multimedia projectors choose Epson 5:1 as the most reliable."

"At $1,299, this projector really is an outstanding value," said Jodi Maugham, product manager, Epson America. "Not only can the PowerLite 30c be used to deliver a business presentation, but after work is over, users can easily take it home and enjoy Epson's top image quality in big-screen entertainment including video games, movies and more."

The heart of this projector's advanced 3-LCD projection system is Seiko Epson's own 0.5-inch LCDs, which are engineered to achieve high levels of image quality, such as uniform brightness distribution (illumination ratio), color saturation, color accuracy, and efficiency. 3-LCD projection uses a dedicated LCD for red, green and blue light that blends to produce a projected image with brighter, richer, truer colors and sharp black text. The PowerLite 30c comes fully equipped with several advanced features such as 15-degree digital keystone correction which provides a completely square image, electronic zoom, multi-function remote control, and on-screen help features. It also takes advantage of Epson's exclusive SizeWise resizing technology. This feature gives the projector the ultimate level of versatility, enabling it to support practically any notebook on the market - Mac or PC - up to 1,024 x 768 resolution.
