EarthLink Launches EarthLink Email-by-Phone
July 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EarthLink today announced the launch of its EarthLink Email-by-Phone service. Email-by-Phone, which provides subscribers with convenient, on-the-go access to their EarthLink email, is the latest addition to EarthLink's comprehensive suite of value-added online services.
"Email-by-Phone provides subscribers with the freedom to access their EarthLink email without being tied to a PC," said Erika Jolly, EarthLink's vice president of value-added services. "EarthLink is committed to offering subscribers services that enhance their online experience -- in this case the flexibility to connect with their email anywhere, anytime."
The new service allows EarthLink subscribers to access to their email for only $4.95 per month -- whether traveling across town or across the country -- simply by dialing the toll-free number and following the voice prompts. EarthLink tapped AudioPoint ( http://www.audiopoint.net/ ), a speech applications company developing products for businesses that reach consumer markets, and Erogo ( http://www.erogo.com/ ), a leading provider of service revenue solutions, to help bring the Email-by-Phone service to EarthLink's 4.9 million subscribers.
"By teaming with these industry-leading application and back-end service providers, we're able to offer more benefits to an EarthLink subscription while remaining focused on our core business as an ISP -- providing fast, reliable Internet connections," Jolly added.

Subscribers then have the following options:
- Listen to unread emails directly from their inbox;
- Delete messages with a voice command;
- Skip messages with a voice command;
- Reply to emails with a WAV audio file attachment.
The Email-by-Phone service launch follows EarthLink's recent Calling Card service launch with deltathree (NASDAQ:DDDC), the leading provider of SIP-based hosted communications solutions for service providers and consumers worldwide.
