D-Link Introduces the First Wireless Internet Camera"This new D-Link Air DCS-1000W wireless camera is the first affordable wireless Internet camera on the market," said Steven Joe, President of D-Link. The D-Link Air DCS-1000W provides digital video streams wirelessly via its built in 802.11b radio or over standard Category 5 cabling, through its single RJ-45 port. Users can view these video streams through any Java enabled web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. The Wireless Internet camera has a robust yet simple to use web-based interface that allows users to remotely configure the D-Link Air DCS-1000W from any PC connected to the Internet. To view streaming video from the wireless Internet camera, users need only type in the IP address of the camera. The D-Link Air DCS-1000W Wireless Internet camera with VGA resolution at 20 frames per second (fps) can be set to stream video from 160x120 up to 640x480 pixel resolution at 24-bit RGB color. Built-in automatic gain control and white balancing give a hands free operation, without the need for tweaking settings on the camera. Advanced features allow users to modify the output of the D-Link Air DCS-1000W to ensure steady video streams over low bandwidth Internet connections. The Wireless Internet camera supports the most common Internet protocols to make certain that it can be managed from any PC.
