Buffalo Technology Announces the First Wi-Fi Certified 802.11G Client
July 9, 2003 - Buffalo Technology the global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wireless networking solutions for home, SOHO and SMBs, announced today its AirStation 54Mbps Wireless Notebook Adapter with an Antenna Interface (WLI-CB-G54A) is the first IEEE802.11g client card to receive Wi-Fi certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance. The product is the first consumer-focused product ever to be included in a Wi-Fi test bed.

Based on the Broadcom AirForce chipset, the 54Mbps WLI-CB-G54A Wireless Notebook Adapter offers wireless connectivity with any Type II or Type III cardbus ready PC notebook. The WLI-CB-G54A boasts an external 2.4Ghz antenna-ready feature for longer range and faster speed. The card supports 64/128-bit WEP and a physical security lock to prevent theft. The WLI-CB-G54A also incorporates latest wireless security standard, Wi-Fi Protected AccessTM (WPA) - the most powerful wireless security solution available on the market today.
