BenQ Launches Next-Generation CRTs
May 2002-- BenQ Incorporated,
formerly
Acer Communications and Multimedia, just introduced two new additions
to
their CRT monitor line-up: the BenQ P211 and the BenQ P992. The P211
is a
new generation 21-inch CRT which utilizes 0.25 mm super-fine dot pitch
(with
a horizontal frequency ranging from 30-KHz to 115-KHz and a vertical
frequency from 50-Hz to 160-Hz) to deliver flicker-free and crisp
images.
The monitor sports a 20-inch diagonal viewable area and offers a
super-crisp
maximum resolution of 1920 x 1440. The 19-inch P992, also offers the
same
0.25mm super-fine dot-pitch and features 1600 x 1200 maximum
resolution.
Both the P211 and the P992 will be available in May at a suggested
retail
price of $625 and $275, respectively.
The BenQ P211 has built-in features designed for ease-of-use. Screen
images
are automatically calibrated by BenQ’s unique iKey on the front plate:
once
pushed, the monitor will intelligently optimize the display’s pixel
clock,
frequency, H-Position, V-Position and color temperature to accommodate
the
user’s current display mode. The advanced on-screen display (OSD)
controls
include convergence, moire and purity adjustments, fulfilling CAD/CAM
users
critical calibration demands in an easy-to-use, windows-like
Graphic-User-Interface (GUI).
The BenQ P992 CRT is based on a Natural Flat CRT technology, allowing
the
P992 to offer outstanding, distortion-free images with no visible
screen
curvature. This premium-quality 19” (18.0” viewable) monitor also
features
super-fine 0.25 mm dot-pitch, with support for horizontal frequencies
up to
98-KHz, and a maximum resolution of 1600-by-1200. The BenQ P992
features a
full range of display controls, making it ideal for a wide range of
applications -- from word processing, spreadsheets, web surfing, video
game
entertainment, to professional graphics design. The BenQ P992 is
ideally
suited for SOHO (small office/home office) and home users who are ready
to
upgrade their old monitors, as well as game enthusiasts who require
their
CRT to have outstanding quality and a large viewing size. Both BenQ
P211
and P992 CRT monitors are TCO-99 compliant and come with a three-year
full
warranty.
