AT&T Wireless Expands Portfolio of GSM/GPRS Phones
Sony Ericsson T68 Premieres Color Screen;
Nokia 8390 Debuts With Color Covers
March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Adding to its portfolio of
GSM/GPRS devices, AT&T Wireless (NYSE: AWE) today introduced two new wireless
phones in select markets across the country.
The Sony Ericsson T68 wireless phone is the first GSM/GPRS phone in the
United States to feature a color screen and Bluetooth wireless technology.
The tri-band phone works on 900, 1800 and 1900 megahertz GSM networks and, in
the near future, will allow customers to use their wireless phone domestically
or when traveling abroad. Additional features include joystick navigation,
calendar/organizer functions and voice control. The Sony Ericsson T68 is
priced at $199.99.
The Nokia 8390 wireless phone allows customers to easily change covers and
offers advanced features like voice dialing and a personal memo recorder.
Using the built-in infrared port, the new phone can also send and receive data
between devices equipped with compatible infrared capability. Additional
features include a phonebook, calendar, to-do list and games. The Nokia 8390
is priced at $199.99.

AT&T Wireless also began offering customers the opportunity to select from several voice calling plans for its GSM/GPRS service. The new voice plans come in buckets of 60, 500 and 900 minutes and range in price from $19.99 to $59.99. Long distance and roaming charges are not included. Customers can also add data service to one of the voice packages at an additional cost.
