Bad Apple


Apple iMac Flower PowerTwo new psychedelic looking new iMacs, equipped for the first time with built in recordable CD drives, were the highlight of Apple CEO Steve Jobs Keynote speech at MacWorld Tokyo. The new colors, dubbed Dalmatian Blue and Flower Power, go on sale today on Apple's web site.
Someone at Apple has obviously been holding out on the Orange Sunshine. Go outside man. It's 2001. Haight Ashbury was a cool place. Now it's $300,000 lofts and dot commers. Leary and Garcia are dead and Kesey's too old to drive anywhere. These computers aren't cool. They are tie-dye shirts at Kmart. In the past, Compaq and HP would have come out with psychedelic computers to mimic Mac; not Apple. What's next, disco ball hard drives?

In other news, Apple reduced the price of the Power Mac G4 Cube to $1,300 from $1,500 and introduced a new G4 Cube model with 128MB of memory, a 20GB hard drive and CD-RW drive for $1,600.
