Atari Delivers Two New Titles from Humongous Entertainment

Oct. 2003--Humongous Entertainment has done it again! Atari just announced that the first new Pajama Sam and Putt-Putt adventure titles to be created by the renowned children's software developer Humongous Entertainment, Pajama Sam: Life is Rough When You Lose Your Stuff and Putt-Putt: Pep's Birthday Surprise, have shipped to retail stores nationwide. Starring two of the most beloved PC characters of all time, Pajama Sam: Life is Rough When You Lose Your Stuff and Putt-Putt: Pep's Birthday Surprise, feature Sam, the boy turned superhero once he dons his red cape, and the loveable purple convertible, Putt-Putt, and good friend Pep, the dog in their fourth and seventh adventures, respectively.

Pajama Sam: Life is Rough When You Lose Your Stuff and Putt-Putt: Pep's Birthday Surprise, like previous games created by Humongous, are unique cartoon-style learning adventures that encourage critical thinking and creative problem-solving while including story elements that change each time the game is played. Pajama Sam is known for being a good friend and for tackling - and solving - fun challenges creatively. Putt-Putt's friendly and polite nature reinforces good social skills and manners while stressing the importance of teamwork.

"Humongous Entertainment has a long history of providing kids and parents with fun, engaging entertainment titles," said Nancy MacIntyre, vice president of brand marketing for Atari's Beverly studio. "Parenting organizations and media have credited them with numerous awards and accolades and we are certain that these two new adventures will uphold that tradition."

"We have always prided ourselves on creating rich, high quality games and these games are no exception," said Andy Hieke, senior vice president and general manager of Atari's Humongous Entertainment development studio. "We have created two new adventure titles for children to have fun with and accidentally learn at the same time, and look forward to their success."

In Pajama Sam: Life is Rough When You Lose Your Stuff, kids follow Sam in an adventure to find his prized comic. Donning his red cape, he transforms into Pajama Sam and dives into the piles of clothes and other things in his room only to land in a strange and fantastic world that oddly resembles a larger version of his messy room. Pajama Sam sets off on a series of adventures in 29 fun and interesting locations in search of his lost comic book and finds himself cleaning lost socks in Agitator Lake, rounding up dust bunnies at the Dust Bunny corral, exploring the Spilled Soda Swamp and much more. Throughout the story, players meet lots of interesting old and new friends, like Grandma Sweater, and tackle fun challenges that will inspire them to solve problems in creative ways. After the lost comic book is recovered, Sam realizes that life wouldn't be so rough if he put away his stuff in the first place.

In Putt-Putt: Pep's Birthday Surprise, it's Pep the dog's birthday and Putt-Putt wants to surprise him with his first birthday party ever. Kids join Putt-Putt as he travels through 27 different locations in "Cartown" helping various residents, reaping rewards and gathering supplies for the party. With new friends to meet and new problems to solve, players help Putt-Putt get everything ready in time for the big surprise -- a birthday cake, presents, decorations and friends.

Pajama Sam: Life is Rough When You Lose Your Stuff (ages 5 to 8) and Putt-Putt: Pep's Birthday Surprise (ages 3 to 6) for PC CD-ROM are available at retail nationwide for an approximate retail price of $19.99. The award-winning line-up also includes Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside, Putt-Putt: Travels Through Time, Freddi Fish: The Case of the Creature of Coral Cove and Spy Fox: Operation Ozone.
