Archos Launches Next Generation DVD Writers


 Archos DExDVD-RW January 2003 -- Archos announces the launch of the next generation of DVD writers with the introduction of the first portable (peripheral) DVD writer, the DExDVD-RW.

This innovative product offers the professional and home user the ability to create and store video films, images and all types of numerical files on any kind of DVD and CD.

What’s more, this recorder of DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW is equipped with an ultra rapid USB 2.0 interface. It is also supplied with mastering software and hardware enabling the user to engrave, create and publish a new video DVD from scratch. Simply transfer numerical photographs from your computer system or directly from a digital video camera and create a DVD in a few minutes.

Ideal as an information backup device, it’s easy to create a DVD-RAM of all your data at the push of a button. By using rewritable media (DVD-RAM) in the DExDVD-RW, the user can utilize it like an optical hard disk (able to rewrite up to 100,000 times) to store all kinds of data. One can store any desired combination of: up to 75 hours of music to format MP3, 2 hours of videos or 4.7 Gigabytes of data or a combination of the files on one DVD.

The product comes with award-winning software from Roxio, including CD-burning software, Easy CD Creator, and the brand-new video editing program, VideoWave Movie Creator. This software enables users to create, edit and burn their own CDs and DVDs.

Like all Archos products, the DExDVD-RW is ‘hot-swappable’ (it can be disconnected and reconnected without having to reboot your computer system) and is multiplatform (compatible with Mac & PC).
