Apple Releases iSync Public Beta

Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) today announced the availability of iSync Public Beta, a preview version of Apple's breakthrough software application that automatically synchronizes address books and calendars between Macs and the new generation of Bluetooth-enabled GPRS mobile phones, Apple's iPod and Palm OS-compatible handheld organizers. In addition, users with a .Mac account can use iSync to seamlessly synchronize their calendars and address books across multiple Macs connected to the Internet.

"iSync is the beginning of something really big," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "With the push of a button, iSync synchronizes the address book and calendar on your Mac with those on your mobile phone. Plus, if you're a .Mac subscriber, you can now synchronize the address books and calendars across your multiple Macs too."

Apple is working with mobile industry leaders such as Cingular and Sony Ericsson to offer Mac customers the first easy-to-use, integrated "Mac to Mobile" solution with Bluetooth enabled phones such as the new T68i. By providing an integrated sync solution with the mobile phone, users will have access to all their most current contacts and schedules on the device that they travel with the most.

iSync Public Beta is available for download at http://www.apple.com/isync and requires Mac OS X version 10.2 "Jaguar." A .Mac account is required for "Mac to Mac" synchronization. A list of iSync-compatible devices is available at http://www.apple.com/isync.
