May 19, 2005 -- Acer America today introduced the TravelMate 3000 to its award-winning line of TravelMate notebooks. Based on Intel Centrino Mobile Technology, the TravelMate 3000 delivers cutting-edge performance and up to 4.5 hours of battery life in a three pound notebook PC. Designed for business travellers who want an ultra-lightweight notebook that provides superior mobility, long-lasting independence, compactness and optimum performance, the TravelMate 3000 is an ideal system that meets the needs of users of business professionals regardless of their location, environment or workload.
The TravelMate 3000 series, based on the Intel "Sonoma" platform, offers a perfect balance between performance, weight and connectivity featuring the powerful state-of-the-art PCI Express technology and Intel Centrino Mobile Technology. In addition to the excellent performance guaranteed by the Intel Pentium M processors, the TravelMate 3000 series also features a 12.1" WXGA widescreen color TFT LCD with picture resolution of up to 1280 x 800 pixels and Intel 915GM integrated 3D graphics featuring an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 and up to 128MB dynamically allocated video memory.
The TravelMate 3000 notebooks come with Microsoft Windows XP Professional pre-installed (with Recovery CD) in addition to a complete selection of useful utilities. These include Acer eManager (ePresentation, eSetting, ePowerManagement and eRecovery) and Acer GridVista. The first gives rapid and intuitive access to a wealth of notebook management utilities, while the second allows up to four windows to be screened simultaneously, each associated with a different application.

The Acer TravelMate 3000 is an advanced, full-featured notebook, offering
up to an Intel Pentium M Processor 740 running on the latest Intel
915GM
Express chipset and a 533MZz Front System Bus. The newest Acer notebook
also features PCI Express, a brilliant 12.1" WXGA display, 512 MB of DDR II
upgradeable to 2048MB, and an integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator
900 video adapter with up to 128MB of dedicated DDR video memory for
outstanding multimedia performance. In addition to wireless 802.11b/g and
Bluetooth support, the TravelMate offers 3 USB 2.0 ports, an IEEE 1394
port, 10/100/1000 LAN connection, and a 56K V.92 modem.
This one-spindled notebook incorporates up to a 60GB hard drive as well as a CDRW/DVD combo drive. TravelMate 3000 series notebooks offer a 4-in-1 PCMCIA Multimedia reader, built-in SmartCard Reader and a port replicator option. Preloaded with Microsoft Windows XP Professional, and weighing just over three pounds, the TravelMate 3000 provides the freedom and flexibility for mobile users combined with desktop-level performance.
