Avail Solutions Upholds Data with Integrity at COMDEX 2003

November 17, 2003 – Avail Solutions, a provider of innovative data protection software, today introduced Integrity 2.0, the latest version of its backup and disaster recovery solution. Integrity 2.0 provides information technology professionals with seamless management of disk and/or tape backup methodologies in a single storage environment. With enterprise-class features such as dynamic resource allocation, managed replication and protected data migration, Integrity conserves IT resources and simplifies the backup process for end users. The product is also engineered to provide customers with maximum flexibility in accommodating their specific data protection needs.

While most backup products can only support one storage device in a configuration, Integrity concurrently supports any number and variety of storage devices. During the backup process, storage devices are dynamically targeted based on performance, longevity, and other data needs. After data is initially backed up, Integrity can automatically move and/or copy data to other storage devices. There are no limitations to the steps that can be assigned in a storage hierarchy. Integrity maintains full management of the data regardless of whether it’s stored on site, off-site, or off-line. When data is needed for restoration, it is located immediately. Local catalogs on each storage vault are queried for the required data in a manner similar to web-server search engines. Once the data is located, it is retrieved from its most readily available source and sent directly to the required location.

Integrity 2.0 features enhanced graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to extend ease of use, single tape drive support, database enhancements along with adaptive file transmission technology for increased product performance, automatic file grooming capabilities, support for additional operating systems including Windows 98, and support for a host of recently certified hardware from companies including Iomega, Exabyte, Qualstar, Overland Storage, Fastora, FIA, Cutting Edge, and others.

Avail Solutions is exhibiting at COMDEX 2003 in partnership with Fastora, a provider of network-attached storage (NAS) systems. The companies will demonstrate Integrity on Fastora’s new NAS products at booth #7146. The product will also be demonstrated in Avail’s NAS/Tape Interoperability suite across the street from the convention center at the Residence Inn, and with BreeceHill Corporation in their iStoRA announcement and demonstration center at the Venitian Hotel.
