Texas Instruments Demonstrates Digital Entertainment Technologies at CES 2002

Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time, Texas Instruments will demonstrate all of its audio technologies, together with its broadband, connectivity and wireless networking solutions for home entertainment at the 2002 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which will be held January 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. TI also will demonstrate its DLP technology that enables a wide range of commercial and consumer entertainment products. (See www.ti.com/sc/ces2002nr ) TI, which is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its first digital signal processor (DSP), will showcase its comprehensive digital entertainment solutions spanning consumer electronics markets such as home theater, portable audio, digital radio, telematics and wireless networking. TI's industry-leading DSP and analog solutions offer the performance headroom for customer innovations; flexible, open platforms for differentiated consumer products; compact form factors for cool product designs; and easy-to-use software and tools for faster time to market.

Demonstrated Technologies:
  • In Booth #13737, TI will feature a digital living room that illustrates the future of home entertainment. These solutions offer performance, breadth of product offering, code compatibility and TI's expertise in analog and digital signal processing. See solutions for:
    • Portable Internet audio players
    • IBOC and Eureka digital audio broadcasting
    • Home theater/surround sound and digital audio amplifier technologies
    • Broadband solutions including, cable, DSL modems and 802.11 wireless LANs
    • Long distance 1394b data transmissions
  • In Booth #2015, see TI's DLP product demonstrations showing the broad range of entertainment projectors and displays enabled by TI's DLP technology. From the de facto standard in digital cinema -- DLP Cinema technology -- to the smallest, lightest portable projectors, DLP technology is unique in the breadth of entertainment display solutions it enables. Of particular interest will be demonstrations of TI's newly announced large screen, tabletop TVs from a number of manufacturers.
  • Other TI Activities at CES: TI's telematics group will be in the IDB-1394 pavilion, offering the only automotive solution for audio and video streaming across a UTP-5 bus.
