JENSEN Announces Sirius Satellite Radio-enabled Audio Equipment
JANUARY 7, 2002 -- JENSEN Mobile Electronics today announced
its upcoming lineup of Sirius Satellite Radio-enabled car audio equipment,
featuring a full menu of products designed to bring 100 channels of digital
quality radio to motorists throughout the continental United States.
The JENSEN selection of Sirius-enabled electronics is a soup-to-nuts menu
of all necessary links in the product chain, typifying the brand's approach
to providing complete solutions for all popular mobile electronics
applications. The JENSEN SSR2000 Satellite Receiver System, which consists
of the DLP2000 radio receiver, DCU2000 display and controller, and wiring
harness, will be available this month at a suggested retail price of $249
for the complete system.
DLP2000 Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver: This sleek, stylish unit is designed to interface with any existing head unit via auxiliary jacks or FM modulator, with display and control functions managed by either the DCU2000 Sirius Satellite Radio Display & Controller (see below) or JENSEN's SR4510 head unit. The DLP2000 acts as the brain of a JENSEN Sirius satellite radio system by receiving 100 channels of digital audio, coast-to-coast. Installation is easy and quick via a head unit's auxiliary input jacks or FM modulator.
DCU2000 Sirius Satellite Radio Display & Controller: Serving as the interface and controller for the DLP2000 Sirius Satellite Receiver, the handheld DCU2000 presents all Sirius Satellite Radio Broadcast information via a four-line 20/15-character LCD scrolling display. The DCU2000 adds convenience and efficiency to the process by giving users a choice of up to 20 pre-set channels spanning as many as 12 pre-set categories. Users may also access their favorite channels with the Direct Channel Entry feature, in addition to scanning and seeking programs.
The high-end four-line display features the Channel Name, Artist, Song, and Channel Number. The DCU2000, which measures 4 ½" (L) x 3 ½" (W) x 1" (D), comes equipped with a convenient three-foot coiled cord and holding cradle.
In addition to the SSR2000 Satellite Receiver System, JENSEN will introduce the SRP2002 Sirius Satellite Radio Plug-N-Play System (SRP: $299.99) for consumers who prefer to move their Sirius Satellite Radio System from one vehicle to another. The SRP2002 will feature both the DCU2000 controller and DLP2000 receiver. Along with the two core units, the SRP2002 will interface with any existing head unit via AUX connections (RCA to RCA, or RCA to 3.5mm), as well as through a cassette adapter (included). Additional features include a magnetic mount external satellite antenna and a cigarette lighter plug for power supply.
