Creative Unveils the Future of Digital Entertainment at CES

Jan. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Creative Technology Ltd. today announces expansion of its award-winning NOMAD MuVo and Creative Prodikeys product lines and the introduction of the new Creative DC-CAM digital camera line. From its huge exhibit at the Consumer Electronics Show, #13615 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, Creative delivers the ultimate digital entertainment experiences, including a variety of exciting new product demonstrations.

"Even though we win prestigious awards, we are never complacent," said Sim Wong Hoo, chairman and CEO of Creative Technology Ltd. "Last year we won a Best of CES award for the original Creative Prodikeys. This year we return with the new, even better Creative Prodikeys DM. In portable audio, the original NOMAD MuVo forever changed the MP3 player category. Now we're expanding our award-winning NOMAD MuVo line with the NOMAD MuVo TX, which features USB 2.0, so up to 16 hours of music can be transferred in seconds."

Creative's CES exhibit reveals how devices that connect to the PC can leverage its digital entertainment capabilities to deliver compelling experiences at home and on the go. Product demonstrations include:

Portable Audio
The award-winning NOMAD MuVo changed the face of MP3 music playback and data transfer by providing a combination portable audio player and USB flash drive in a size small enough to fit on a key chain. With the introduction of the Creative NOMAD MuVo TX at CES, ultra-fast USB 2.0 transfer speed comes to the NOMAD MuVo family. Now up to 512 MB of music, images and data files can be transferred from PC to player in just seconds, instead of the several minutes required for transfer with USB 1.1.

Creative will also show the recently announced NOMAD MuVo2 4GB portable audio player, which is as small as a flash memory based player at less than 2.6 inches by 2.6 inches, yet features a Compact Flash Type II one inch micro drive to carry up to 2100 songs. The NOMAD MuVo2 1.5GB and X-Trainer players will also be included in the Creative CES exhibit.

Interactive Music Entertainment
The new Creative Prodikeys DM expands upon the capabilities of last year's Best of CES-winning Creative Prodikeys. Now also available in black, with an eye-catching new compact form factor that fits in a standard keyboard tray, the Creative Prodikeys DM music and PC keyboard all-in-one features enhanced functionality, including dedicated multimedia and music control keys, fully programmable hot keys and Internet hot keys, and octave shift buttons. Like its award-winning predecessor, the Creative Prodikeys DM is based upon 37 programmable touch sensitive music keys combined with a full-featured ergonomic keyboard. The Prodikeys DM empowers anyone to create and play music -- regardless of musical background. Creative has dedicated a special stage for demonstrations of Prodikeys DM at CES.

Creative DC-CAM and Creative WebCam
A pioneer in the webcam and dual cam markets, Creative enters the pure digital camera space in the U.S. at CES 2004 with the introduction of the Creative DC-CAM 3200Z. Delivering 3.2 megapixels effective resolution, the Creative DC-CAM 3200Z features a 1.5" LCD screen for image viewing, plus 3x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom and maximum zoom of 12x with auto focus. Also capable of capturing MPEG-4 video, the compact yet feature-rich Creative DC-CAM 3200Z provides auto and manual modes, plus fast shot-to-shot time and burst mode. In addition to showing the new Creative DC-CAM 3200Z, Creative will also demonstrate the Creative DC-CAM 3000Z, which has been recently introduced in regions outside of the U.S.

The Creative WebCam NX Ultra also makes its U.S. debut at CES. Featuring a wide angle lens for enhanced videoconferencing, the WebCam NX Ultra features a CCD sensor, up to 4x digital zoom, and face-tracking features to provide detailed, vivid personal video messaging experiences.

PC Speaker Systems
The year 2004 promises unprecedented audio power and realism with the THX-certified Creative GigaWorks 7.1 S750 speaker system with a mind-blowing 700 watts of total system burst power. Contributing to the Creative GigaWorks state-of-the-art technology, each satellite speaker utilizes a two-way design with midrange drivers and titanium supertweeters delivering superb 40kHz frequency response -- ideal for DVD-Audio playback. For awesome performance from both PC and console gaming, the GigaWorks 7.1 will rock CES in combination with the Creative Decoder DDTS-100 digital decoder.

DDTS-100 Digital Decoder
The new Creative Decoder DDTS-100 digital decoder raises the bar for power and performance with console gaming and DVD movies. This versatile decoder boasts eight selectable inputs, including three digital optical inputs, perfect for connecting to a host of consumer electronics gear. The Creative Decoder DDTS-100 supports the latest home theater standards such as Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS-ES, and Neo:6.

Sound Blaster
The awesome sonic power fueling Creative's speaker systems comes courtesy of the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX, which provide industry-leading audio quality, audio processing technologies and 7.1 surround sound. The Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS was awarded with the Maximum PC "Kick Ass Award," continuing Creative's legacy of award-winning internal sound cards. Adding excitement to the external Sound Blaster line, which provides notebook PC users with legendary Sound Blaster audio quality through easy USB connectivity, the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX will be honored at CES for winning the PC World 2004 "Innovations Award."
