Canton Shines at CES 2002 with 22 New Loudspeakers

1/7/02 -- With unusual silver lacquer finishes(optional), 22 new models, one completely new line, and a new top-of-the-line speaker, Canton Electronics will make a big showing at the 2002 Consumer Electronics Show. For Canton, Germany's largest music and home theater speaker manufacturer, this represents the greatest number of new products introduced by the company at any CES show. Like all Canton speakers, these new models offer an optimal balance of sound quality, craftsmanship, and contemporary design. This year's introduction of silver finishes in its Karat and LE lines creates a signature look to compliment the company's popular beech, cherry, and black ash wood veneers.

The new top-of-the-brand Canton Ergo RC-A loudspeaker sets a new standard for sound quality. Its sophisticated 350-Watt powered woofer and advanced electronics achieve smooth response and excellent dynamics across the audio spectrum. Eight new models in the Ergo line, including the RC-A, now incorporate the company's remarkable new 7-inch aluminum midrange/bass driver. This black anodized aluminum diaphragm is very light and rigid, delivering exceptional dynamics and linear response across the key middle octaves of the audio spectrum.

Canton has also introduced its newest line of speakers, the LE Series . These are classic Canton designs with tower-style front L/R speakers, Bookshelf speakers for front and surround channels, a center channel, a low-profile wall hanging flat speaker and two subwoofers. These affordably priced speakers have an attractive combination of light beech cabinets with silver front baffles, or black ash with black grills.

Two new models have been added to the top of Canton's Karat line and the entire line is now available in the new Silver Satin Lacquer finish. The slender design and high output of these speakers is made possible by the use of side-mounted woofers, and powerful 6-inch concave aluminum midrange drivers.

The Canton introductions include two new package movie systems, the Ergo Movie and the Movie 5-CX with its tiny cube-like 3-1/2-inch square speakers and a powerful subwoofer.

Canton continues its high level of support for custom installers, by integrating its in-wall speakers into the Ergo, Karat, and LE lines.
