Audiovox Debuts 1X-Compatible, Tri-Mode, CDMA Handset with Dual LCDs


Audiovox CDM-9200XJanuary 9, 2002 - Audiovox today introduced its new CDM-9200X, an ultra-sleek, feature-rich, 1X-enabled, CDMA tri-mode handset. Designed to operate on the 800 MHz AMPS/CDMA and 1900 MHz PCS frequencies, ACC's CDM-9200X, when used on carrier systems that support 3G CDMA2000 technology, will enable consumers to maximize the capabilities of increased speed and bandwidth of next-generation networks, and significantly enhance data, video and text transmission and reception. The compact, clamshell-style phone features dual LCD screens: a two-line LCD, on the outside, that displays key operational icons and caller ID; and when opened, an expanded display for all of the unit's operational icons plus seven available rows for messages, text and data. The CDM-9200X is equipped with the MSM-5105 chipset, web browser (UP 4.1), two soft touch Internet navigation keys and T9ä predictive text input. Other advanced features include voice-activated dialing and two-way short messaging service.
