Samsung Introduces New Pocket-Sized Portable Media Center
September 2004 – Samsung Electronics America, Inc., an award-winning innovator in the digital audio arena, expands its YEPP Digital Audio Player line with the introduction of the most versatile model to date, the Samsung YH-999 Portable Media Center. The YH-999 Portable Media Center is handheld entertainment device that makes it easy to store and play recorded TV, movies, home videos, music and photos transferred from a PC with Windows XP - so you can enjoy to your favorite entertainment anytime and anywhere you want. This pocket-sized powerhouse takes convergence to a new level and makes playback a cinch whether listening with headphones, viewing via the 3.5” LCD screen or using the A/V out. The YH-999 will be on display at the Samsung booth – #285 – in the Main Hall of the Indiana Convention Center at CEDIA in Indianapolis from September 10th –12th.

Samsung’s YH-999 Portable Media Player offers consumers the latest in Digital Multimedia Player technology. Built on a Microsoft Platform, it supports WMV, WMA, MP3, JPG and is compatible with MPEG, MPEG 2, MS-DVR (Media Center TV files), ASF, AVI, WAV, and MIDI files which can all be downloaded using the built-in USB 2.0 port. Users can also Use Windows Media Player to sync music libraries, recorded TV, video and pictures to the YH-999 Portable Media Center, and create custom play-lists. Other features include easy to use Windows Mobile software, simple controls and settings, Intuitive navigation and content book marking.
Housed in a tiny 3.82”” x 4.21” x .83” format and weighing a svelte 1/2 lbs., Samsung’s YH-999 Portable Media Center comes equipped with a Li-ion rechargeable battery, charging cradle and composite A/V out. An IR remote controller and set of headphones are also included.
The Samsung YH-999 will be available at consumer electronics retailers nationwide by September 2004 at an MSRP of $549.99.
