September 8, 2005 – Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), the leader in innovative control solutions for the home, is pleased to announce that it will exhibit its full lineup in booth #1118 at CEDIA Expo 2005. Among the products on display will be the award-winning T3 Universal System Controller and K4 In-Wall Universal System Controller, the new U1 Waterproof Controller, and the new RP-1 Remote Control Processor, alongside many more new innovative products that will be unveiled at the show. RTI’s product line is respected among home entertainment system designers for user-simplicity, reliability, and compatibility with virtually any audio/video component. CEDIA EXPO runs from September 9-11 in the Indiana Convention Center.

“We’re very excited to showcase all of our new control system technology at CEDIA EXPO, said Pete Baker, director of worldwide sales for RTI. “Our latest generation of controls and accessories accounts for the installer’s need for a fast and thorough set-up process, while maintaining the user-intuitiveness that is the RTI signature. The waterproof U1 Controller is perfect in pools, showers and hot tubs, while the T3 Universal Controller and K4 In-Wall Controller provide customizable touchscreens and advanced processors for quick, reliable, and flexible performance. We also recently developed the RP-1 for installers who need to give their customers extra-powerful control within a budget. These powerful new products are the tools that home system integrators need to create complete and comfortable control over virtually any entertainment or convenience system.

The new U1 Waterproof Controller has been designed for reliable wireless control of audio/video systems from environments that are too harsh for normal remote controls. It is completely sealed, making it both waterproof and floating. The U1 is designed to be used as an RF remote control with RTI central processors, making it more than just another remote it’s an expandable control system. When used with the available RTI accessory devices, the U1 is capable of power sensing and RS-232 communications for advanced, intelligent control. Its comfortable, ergonomic design allows effortless, one-handed operation while featuring just the right selection of buttons for stress-free audio/video system control.

The new T3 Universal System Controller features a 3.5 inch, brightly backlit touchscreen, capable of displaying high-resolution graphics, animations, and custom buttons. The touch-sensitive LCD allows installers unmatched flexibility for customizing an interface that provides users intuitive access to all functions of any entertainment system with minimal operating instruction needed. In addition to the LCD, there are 16 hard buttons that allow easy access to frequently used functions. The T3’s touchscreen and tactile buttons are all fully programmable and macro-assignable, and allow installers to build an expandable control platform for any system in the home. A 32-bit, 200 MHz XScale® processor ensures quick, reliable response, and the remote’s non-volatile flash memory allows storage of an expansive library of codes and commands, which remain in tact even when power is lost.

RTI’s new K4 In-Wall Universal Controller, which will also appear at CEDIA 2005, features a 6.4-inch TFT LCD touchscreen with full VGA resolution, and mounts flush-to-wall for seamless integration with a variety of décor. Its powerful 32-bit processor and infrared receiver allow installers provide users precise control over all audio/video components, lights, or other electronic systems. Its touchscreen is small enough to blend into a room’s interior yet provide the detail necessary for displaying video windows and web pages. The K4 has a 32-MB Flash memory, making it fully programmable using RTI’s TheaterTouch™ Designer software, which has evolved over the past decade to become the most rock-solid programming interface available. It lets installers easily display custom buttons, text, graphics, and animations. The K$ maintains all such settings and configurations even when power is lost.

The RP-1 Remote Control Processor allows installers to easily build an advanced control system using RTI's family of universal remotes and accessory devices. Unlike simple IR-to-RF converters, the RP-1 opens the option of storing all of a system's complex commands within a central controller at the equipment rack, in addition to storing them in the remote control or both at once. The RP-1 guarantees reliable control over an A/V system because it delivers stored codes and complete macro strings to the system’s components, requiring the remote to send only a single trigger signal to its built-in RF receiver. The RP-1 also features a built-in power sensing module and a connecting block for IR emitters and blasters. All of these included capabilities, along with its streamlined design, make the RP-1 an exceptionally flexible solution that can bring RTI’s industry-leading control to any home.
