Gefen Unveils New 4X4 HDMI Matrix for Integrated Home Theater Systems

September 8, 2005 - A simple high definition audio/video integration solution from Gefen, the 4x4 HMDI Matrix gears itself to home theater and professional AV environments. This rackmountable solution connects for HDTVs to four sources such as satellite television, HD-DVDs, etc.

Users assign a source to a display using the 16-key IR remote control that comes with the unit. Any of the displays can access any of the sources at any time.

HD video in resolutions up to 1080p and multichannel digital audio are fully supported. HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) is built into the unit.

The 4x4 HDMI Matrix requires no complex networking or installation. The plug and play unit comes equipped with four HDMI inputs, four HDMI outputs and a 24-volt power supply. It has an optional remote port for external parallel control. When used with a Gefen DVI to HDMI Adapter, DVI sources and displays can be integrated into the same system.
