Tales from the VEGAS.com Call Center

Vegas.com logoAs the Vegas Insiders, VEGAS.com customers think they know everything because, well, they do. But that doesn’t mean they can do everything. Wondering about something a little less, ahem, “mainstream?” Ask away – they’re not prudes but they may have to draw the line somewhere.

The following are excerpts from actual call center conversations:

Caller # 1: Cannon Needed
“I’m coming to Vegas and I’d like to shoot my friend out of a cannon. (silence) Seriously.” As flattered as they are that he thought VEGAS.com might be able to arrange this, they can’t in good conscience help shoot someone out of a cannon. VEGAS.com’s advice? Leave the stunts to the professionals.

Caller # 2: Condom Tree
“I’m staying at (name withheld) Hotel and I’d like to have condoms taped to the leaves of a tree and placed in the entryway of my room. I’ll also need the bathtub filled with beer and wine coolers.” Now that’s thinking ahead and kudos for putting safety first.

Caller # 3: That’s Why They're the Experts
“I called and booked a tee time recently for myself and three friends. One of your agents happily made the reservation and threw in a tip about a hidden bunker. I didn’t pay much attention at the time but after watching my friends hit into the trap I followed the advice of the agent and successfully played to the right of the fairway and fared much better than my buddies.”

Caller # 4: Personalized Service
“My wife and I would like to make a home video in our hotel room. Can you arrange for the hotel videographer to give us a hand?” They're all about the personal service but this is taking it a bit over the line.

Caller # 5: The Exclusive Ocean View Room
“Hi, I’d like to book the best Ocean View Room in Vegas.” VEGAS.com hates to be know-it-alls here but short of a natural disaster, there will never be an Ocean View Room in Vegas. Even after the 30th request, they still get the giggles.
