DeLoach Vineyards Announces New Private Yoga Retreats

grape bunch At DeLoach Vineyards, the Sonoma experience is more than just great wine. Beginning in May 2007 and continuing through harvest season in September 2007, DeLoach Vineyards will launch a series of monthly weekend-long Yoga Retreats that will be held at the winery’s private guest house. Each retreat will be limited to 18 people. The style of yoga will either be a gentle, restorative flow or a more vigorous vinyasa or power flow, depending on the time of day and general energy level.

With sessions led by one of the Bay Area’s top yoga instructors, Rosemary Garrison, the two-night retreats will offer a unique way to experience the serenity of DeLoach Vineyards and the Russian River Valley. Twice daily yoga sessions, organic vegetarian meals from DeLoach’s own garden, a vegetarian cooking class led by in-house chef Cyndicy Coudray—and, of course, top drops from DeLoach’s stellar bottlings—will contribute to mindfulness, overall well-being, and camaraderie.

DeLoach’s commitment to biodynamic farming in its vineyards and organic garden, stewardship of the land and those that farm it, and its serene location in the Russian River Valley make the new Yoga Retreats a natural fit for the winery.

DeLoach Vineyards’ 18,000 square-foot organic garden will provide the bounty for the weekend’s vegetarian cooking and eating. In the vegetable patch, attendees will find a rainbow of heirloom tomatoes, peppers, peas, eggplants, corn, and squash, to name a few. Citrus trees bear Eureka lemons, blood oranges, and Bears limes. Apples, pears, peaches and berries bloom in season, and seven types of basil scent the air.

Accommodations and Costs
Each retreat will be limited to 18 attendees. The wine country-rustic guest house has three bedrooms (double occupancy only) which will accommodate three couples or six people for each Yoga Retreat. 10 additional guests can attend all parts of the Retreat; DeLoach will be happy to recommend nearby lodging.

For participants staying at DeLoach Vineyards, the cost is $1000-$1100 per person (master bedroom is $1100) and is all inclusive for lodging, yoga sessions, meals and wine tastings. For those enjoying other accommodations, the cost is $600 per person and includes all yoga sessions, meals, and wine tastings. Transportation to and from DeLoach Vineyards is not included.
