Beau Rivage Resort & Casino Welcomes Three New Gourmet Restaurants

Olives RestaurantThis winter, Todd English’s internationally renowned Mediterranean restaurant Olives will make its Gulf Coast debut at the luxurious AAA Four Diamond Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. Olives is one of three new gourmet restaurants – including steakhouse BR Prime and contemporary Asian restaurant Jia – that will open at Beau Rivage on December 15, completing the resort’s transformation in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

"We promised that the Beau would be back and better than ever," said George Corchis, president and COO of Beau Rivage. With the addition of these three fantastic gourmet restaurants and specifically the Gulf Coast debut of Todd English’s Olives at Beau Rivage – combined with the many other exciting changes to the Beau such as the recent opening of our Fazio-designed golf course Fallen Oak – we believe we’ve accomplished our goal. But," he continued, "the excitement doesn’t stop there. We will continually delight and surprise our local patrons as well as our resort guests with outstanding headliner entertainment, great events and much more."

Under the direction of executive chef Joseph Friel, who was named one of the Great Chefs of New York and invited to cook at the renowned James Beard House, the culinary standard at Beau Rivage is on par with the world’s finest resorts. From traditional cooking to exotic international cuisine, Beau Rivage’s distinctive restaurants and cafés offer a multitude of dining experiences. With the addition of Olives, BR Prime and Jia, Beau Rivage will take guests on a delectable culinary adventure as the foremost dining destination on the Gulf Coast.

"Nowhere else in the Southeast, period, can restaurants be created like they have been at Beau Rivage," said George Goldhoff, the resort’s vice president of Food & Beverage. "No one else has committed the capital to build multi-million-dollar restaurants like BR Prime, Jia or Olives. The best chefs in Southeast are here and they are ready to create an experience at Beau Rivage like no other."

Olives
Created by superstar Chef Todd English, a James Beard Award Winner and Bon Appetit "Restaurateur of the Year," Olives has drawn national and international applause for its interpretive rustic Mediterranean cuisine. With a passion for hearty, ingredient-driven fare, Olives will serve delectable dishes by Chef English ranging from his legendary flatbread pizzas and homemade pastas to rotisserie dishes, flame-licked seafood and meats. Designed by Jeffrey Beers, Olives will exude a tranquil and inviting ambiance with the milieu of warm tones, dark woods and distressed leather found in the original Olives Boston combined with the sexy, sleek appeal of Olives New York and Olives Las Vegas.

BR Prime
Under the direction of chef Anthony Caratozzolo, BR Prime will deliver one of the finest culinary experiences the Southeast has to offer within its relaxed cosmopolitan setting. Warm and welcoming, the bar at BR Prime will be a place to gather with friends, unwind and prepare for the culinary journey ahead. Within the dining area, dramatic shifts of light will create an air of sophistication among warm-colored stonework, hardwood flooring and striking walls of glass and wood complemented by an extensive 4,000-bottle wine cellar. The menu will feature classic American steakhouse fare including wet-aged and dry-aged prime beef, Gulf shrimp, three-pound Australian lobster tails and stone crab accompanied by garlic fries, rich potatoes au gratin and lavish salads with homemade dressings. Desserts will be equally as exciting and impossible to surpass.

Jia
Under the direction of chef Gregg Fortunato, Beau Rivage’s contemporary Asian restaurant, Jia will emanate excitement and inspire serenity. Enveloped in Asian-Zen modern décor, Jia will dish out authentic sushi, teppanyaki and pan-Asian cuisine created from simple, quality ingredients. The menu will spotlight a variety of soups, salads, noodles and regional specialties from Thailand, Japan, China, Vietnam and Hong Kong-style barbecue. An extensive selection of cocktail creations from specialty elixirs to Asian beers and sake will complement its exotic fare.

In addition to its three new gourmet venues, Beau Rivage features seven other restaurants including Memphis Q Smokehouse & Barbeque, featuring cool blues and hot barbecue; Coast, dishing out pub-style favorites from Coast crab cakes to wood-fired pizzas; The Buffet, offering more than 200 delicious hot-and-cold and made-to-order selections; Terrace Cafe – the property’s 24-hour casual café – offering contemporary and classic American food; Roasted Bean Coffee Bistro, featuring delicious home-roasted coffee, specialty beverages and gourmet treats; Snacks, serving up overstuffed sandwiches, bountiful salads and scrumptious desserts; and Scoops Ice Cream, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor doling out homemade gelato and other delectable sweets.
