Trendy New Methods of Taking Your Digital Video on the Go from Gefen

January 4, 2007 – So you want to show off your son’s winning maneuvers on the field, captured on your camcorder last night? Or share some scenes from last week’s final episode of your favorite television program?

At CES, Gefen presents a convenient method of taking your digital TV with you using the new Personal Video Recorder.

This handy device works much like any standard digital video recorder but with some added bonus features. Most importantly, it records television programming or video from a digital camcorder that can be stored on any USB storage device, allowing it to travel and be viewed on different computer displays.

The Gefen Personal Video Recorder comes in two versions: one that supports high definition video resolutions up to 1080p and a low definition version.

Each unit is equipped to support most standard USB storage devices and dongles. Users simply save their programming on the USB device, remove it when needed and plug it into any USB computer for instant access.

Another plus is the switching functionality, allowing the user to connect and access one of two sources—a satellite television set top box and camcorder, for example—from which to record.

Gefen's Personal Video Recorders use technology based on the MPEG 4 format. Both deliver preferences and access through an on-screen menu, allowing for easy selection and control.

Additional information on Gefen's Personal Video Recorders will be available in booth 22031 in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Attendees are invited to stop by to see live demos and additional features.
