Ultra-Compact Photo Printers
How many times, when you take a really great picture, does someone ask you for a copy of it? More often than not, when someone asks you that very question, the promised picture is never delivered. Now, you never again have to say “I’ll send it to you later”—you can give it to them right on the spot! Sony just introduced two new portable photo printers: the DPP-FP55 and the DPP-FP35.
The two printers are compact and portable, designed to travel anywhere you need them to go. Simply pop in the memory card, and you’re ready to go. The DPP-FP55 is designed for those who like to edit their photos in the printer. The 2” display screen is the perfect size for using the built-in editing functions. Users can crop, resize, eliminate red-eye, and color correct, all in the printer. The DPP-FP55 is designed for those who use PictBridge or Cyber-Shot compatible cameras. The other option is to print photos directly from the computer, using the included USB cord.
The printers use dye-sublimation technology for even color throughout the pictures. Each print, after being printed, is sealed with a SuperCoat 2 laminate, which gives it a glossy finish and protects from water, heat, and fingerprints. Each photo can cost as little as $0.29 per print, depending on the type of paper you choose. The DPP-FP55 printer will be available in July for approximately $150 and the DPP-FP35 model will be available in September for approximately $100. www.sonystyle.com
